Well, this will be interesting.
You all know that, due to my blindness, I have to make my fashion decisions largely on how things feel. Sure I usually find sales associates to describe things to me, but the proportions and fit characteristics I perceive with my hands are usually the deciding factor in any purchase. The outfit below will be the acid test of this system.
I have a french mom who dressed me in culottes quite a bit as a child. I loved the comfort of them then and was excited to hear they were back. I was still more pumped when mmy current favourite sales associate (name of Reilly) dug these up for me.
When I tried them on and got over how comfortable they were, I *finally* had an epiphany as to why people wear crop tops in my size. High-waistedness ftw in terms of making new silhouettes possible! When I asked for some crop tops to try these on with, I *felt* like the combo was doing a good job of defining my waist. I also *felt* sleakly modern...but do I look that way? You guys will get the final word.
Since I had so many new elements happening in the outfit, I opted for much more classic accessories than I plan to wear if the culottes/top ensemble gets the thumbs up. These are my investment pumps, a simple necklace and the ubiquitous new satchell.
Take it away,, ladies. And please do tell me if my sense of touch has led me astray. Much as I've come to rely on it, I trust your collective eyes more.
