Interesting post, Denise. I have been in the same boat before and relate so well to your thoughts. I think 7, 8 and 9 look chic, modern and age appropriate. I recently bought a pair of what I thought to be skinny coral jeans, now I'm wondering if they might be neon pink:) YLF!

I'm not one to talk but I don't see or believe in age issues! I love the shorts best out of this group actually.

Ha ha this post is from 2012! It says "one year ago" but this thread was written in July of 2012. Is this what they call a zombie thread?

I was very passionate about colored jeans in 2011 and 2012 but starting in 2013 I lost interest, and purged all of them with the exception of my grey, white and black jeans, which are more neutrals than colors.

Looks like the thread was resurrected by a new member searching for info on styling neon yellow pieces. I am impressed with how YLF comes up in search engines!

To the new member: if you want tips, you could check Angie's ensembles using citron yellow. All of the below outfit ideas incorporate a bright yellow element!

Is neon officially over? In 2012 I bought a neon color block dress from AT, and a neon pink skirt, also AT. The skirt is languishing at the moment due to weight gain, but the dress still fits. I keep passing it over but did wear it again just last week. With some hesitation because maybe it's dated now. But I still love that dress, fits well, comfortable, it's a thick ponte knit so perfect on a cooler spring day. Hmm.

As to the age appropriate factor, I'm nearing the corner on 49. When neon first hit the stores, my heart skipped a beat, and I was transported back to my freshman year in college, 18 years old, 97 lbs sopping wet, and fond memories of a neon mini shift dress I made myself, worn with wide white hip-slung belt and white sandals....

I wanted to do neon just for the nostalgia, but fretted as well. I ultimately figured if it was from AT, I was safe. LOL.
