To round out my current complement of a brown wool toggle coat and a black puffer, I had wanted to buy this blue parka. Mainly I loved the color and that it seems warm enough to switch out with my puffer in deep, dark winter.
I ordered it online a month ago in a limited time 30% off sale, which made the price quite reasonable. However, the package was never delivered, yada yada yada. The company finally believes me, but now the coat is sold out online. I believe I could maybe still locate in store, but that would then be full-price again. The whole thing is very annoying.
Basically, a winter coat was something I have been biding my time on for several years now. I was ready to go for this one, but now I am on the fence what to do. I don't have the time to do a full-on canvas for everything that's out there. I happened to spot this one, and it called to me. Although I admire the current menswear/over-sized trend that's going on in coats right now, it is hard to get right on small-boned, short me, and I don't have the time to put in the leg-work.
I spent the last month inwardly smiling every time I saw a gal somewhere in a blue winter coat thinking how I will be happy to have mine, but after all this aggravation I don't know any more. I don't have the time to manage customer service problems and I don't have the time to go shopping. I see now three options: continue to harangue the onlineshop until they can give me what I want. I think this is possible but would easily take another 4 weeks of aggravation. I could go to the store, try on all their coats, and buy either this one or whatever tugs at my heartstrings the most, and accept that I have to forgo the 30% discount, which is obviously huge on a winter coat. Or I could just give up and keep biding my time until next year or whenever. Maybe I should just sit on my pocket change or replace my fall/winter taupe boots that are beaten to death.
Thanks if you could get through this and form an opinion
