Hi all --

So I've been debating posting my NAS try-on shots, but it took the recent (ever-recurring!) discussions re hem length for post-40+ knees to get me moving!

I've had an exceptionally early and hot summer (temps in the 90s/100s) and for a variety of reasons have had a pretty small wardrobe for the past several months. So I knew I wanted any NAS pieces to be transitional, wear now/layer later stuff.

I didn't order much, and two items ended up as winners. [Sorry for the late reporting, they arrived post-sale!]

My splurge is a fun workhorse, my sensible is a staid workhorse. One shows knees when worn as a dress, one doesn't.

I fell hard for the splurge despite its unflattering-on-me drawstring waist as I love the way stretch silk feels and the print and colors are both good one me (solution: not pulling string tight!).

Fast try-on shots aren't great, but happy to provide more input on item fit etc in case anyone wants to watch for markdowns later in season. The ponte is a very fine, lightweight one and I really like it. Hoping it doesn't pill etc.

These are both amazing on you! Wow. What a clever idea with the pencil skirt layered...hmmmm....you are giving me ideas.

But oh -- that DVF is just gorgeous. And the Classiques looks to be an absolutely perfect fit. Stunning on you, both. You did brilliantly at the sale!

These pieces are *stunning* on you! Two well-considered and different items that will definitely be classics and get lots of wear--stylish and elegant on you. Inspired idea not to pull the string on the DVF too tight.

Thanks much! I have to say the sheath is one of those items I put on and thought, "ok, I think this thing has magical properties." The band sits at my natural (short) waist, which helps.

All the other colors are brights [blue version below] -- hope they add neutrals as I'm a no-regrets duplicater (charcoal for me, please).

Anne -- glad you couldn't tell! I wasn't in the mood to take a photo of the waist-pulled-tighter one or you would have known, ha.

Suz -- Yes, not sure if your red dress would work over a pencil but you might try. I had a sleeveless version of the shift made several years ago and it's been super-versatile for me. The fabric on this DVF is heavier (awesomely so) but I knew I could layer it over sheaths, pencil skirts, pants.

Unfrumped -- Merci! I'm afraid I would fail the 5-piece French project because I have a lot of $20 items that work well for me and I wouldn't want them to count!

Shevia, Dakotachryl, Aliona, and Shannon, and Murpheleven -- I always agonize a bit over items that take a big chunk out of my clothing budget but I feel good about these 2...and your kind reviews add to that!

ps Cheryl -- Thanks for the knee love, ha. The shoes were bought for a wedding several years ago and don't get out much (they're comfortable enough, but not practical given I'm often walking a fair bit when I'm in play mode). I forget how much fun they are!

pps to MEleven -- yes, a lava lamp. My place isn't very serious.

Great move to loosen the drawstring --- we should always be boss of our clothes! These are both chic and lovely -- I think the print dress could still work for work dinners -- still professional, if not quite as conservative. Both of these pieces will work for most of the year, which is great for wardrobe flexibility.

Perfect choices - I think you'll wear the heck out of these! I have a v neck sleeveless EF pointe dress and it's a workhorse. To find something similar in silk is amazing!
