NAS: VC Tube skirt. K/R - YouLookFab Forum

I've been eyeing this skirt on the forum for a while now and when they went on sale I jumped. I ordered my suggested size and one size up to try. The XS was way to bombshell and I didn't even include pics! This is the small and although I love the skirt. It feels like I'm wearing Jammie's! BUTT, and ii do mean butt. I am a bit self conscious of my rear view. DH loves it but I'm not sure. I see saddle bags and a not so perky 50 year old backside. Help!

What say you guys?

Of course I think it's great, I just bought one! But also, I see it looking fantastic on you and really don't see saddle bags at all. I always click on pictures first and I thought supremely flattering, so I was surprised to read your concern.

Hubs is right, go with the guy on this one!

I avoid my rear view and am afraid to look at it in my tube skirt. Ignorance is bliss. I actually *do* have saddlebags whereas on you I see none.

Not a saddlebag in sight! I think the skirt looks great. But if you honestly aren't comfortable in it and don't think you'll wear it, then pass it on.

Shannon that's the thing. I love the skirt but I was afraid of what others would see. You know the whole "I want to look perfect, even if I'm not!" So I need to get over that mind set and I hope keeping and wearing this skirt will be a step in the right direction. Having said that......I really appreciate hearing what others see. It makes realize that I can be a bit too hard on myself. and hopefully is a realty check for me and my perfectionist tendencies.

Could you start off by "keeping it for datenight with your husband"? Because if hubby LOVES it, it's probably because its showing off your assets...(I resisted that pun...LOL) and he thinks you make 50 something looks pretty good! (So do I, but you don't have to care what I think.)

After you've worn it for a couple of dates I'll be very very surprised if it doesn't go into regular rotation in your wardrobe because they are JUST THAT comfortable, and flattering.

Sometimes we just have to "get used" to something we want but is new to us. Like the first time this 50 something wore over the knee boots out of the house! Now I love those boots, but the first couple of wears, I felt like that's all anyone was looking at! (And it turned out to be true, but in a good way. I am GUARANTEED to get compliments on those boots when ever I wear them! Funny, huh?)

I think this looks great 360 degrees! No saddlebags! Love the stripe pattern. I also sized up on this skirt for less body con. I have several. They are so comfy and versatile, I use them for both work and MOTG.

I think you look fabulous but if it's too bodycon for you then you need to find a way to make it work for you, otherwise you'll never wear it.
Maybe if you try it with a tunic style of top?
As gorgeous as it is, if you are really not comfortable and if you cannot make it work, then you may want to return it.

Golden, I have a flattish behind AND saddlebags, and I wear them anyway. But I won't do the high-contrast stripe -- my tube skirts are solid black and black and grey stripe.

As a pretty pear I am very sensitive to the rear view. This skirt is divine on you, I see a soft curve but it's not too va-va-voom. This skirt fits great on you!
