Hello.
I had a couple of comments to try the smaller size of the Caslon Knit Blazer
from this post.
Here's the comparison. Excuse the unstyled outfits, I wore white jeans to have a strong contrast against the blazer to try to show the fit.
1. Caslon Blazer in Small - Front
From the front, the blazer looks slightly oversized.
I thought the fit of the Small would be a nod to the oversized, more casual, blazer trend, but if it looks too big, then it'll have to go back.
2. Caslon Blazer in Small - Side View
The side view is where things may look a little off? There's a little fishtail near the backside.
3. Caslon Blazer in Small - Fish tails
Here's another look at what I'm calling fishtails.
4. Caslon Blazer in X-Small - Front
From the front, the X-Small blazer looks more form fitting. This fit is reminding me of my structured blazers, which fit similar to this. I was hoping a knit blazer would be less formal looking though.
5. Caslon Blazer in X-Small - Side View
The side view is again where the fit looks off to me. Now it's got a bit of flare near the backside.
6. Caslon Blazer in X-Small - Flaring Out
Here's a close up of what is flaring out. I noticed that in the smaller size, the split hem in the back starts exactly at the top of my backside, which is why it is flaring out. The larger size was longer so that seam is slightly lower which is why it doesn't flare, and probably why it fishtails a little instead.
I have plenty of great pieces from this year's NAS, so this blazer may end up going back since it doesn't seem like I'm loving the fit on this piece.
Thanks for looking!
