This time I'm going to post in the right category! If you missed my first round of reviews, they are here in the regular forum: https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....ws-round-1

First, a quick review of two items not photographed:

a) Beyond Yoga space dye cami: runs smaller than the Beyond Yoga cami that I already own, a different style but same fabric. XS was uncomfortably snug on me, and I decided the price was a bit high for not being amazingly comfy like my existing cami. (ETA: Oops, I just double-checked and my most-similar current cami is actually a size S. So that would explain why this one fit smaller... I do have a different style of Beyond Yoga tank in size XS though, which still fits my same body. Go figure.)

b) Halogen kick flare pants: I couldn't get even a bad photo of black pants against the backdrop of my black bedside table. IF I needed to dress business casual, I would have kept these; the fabric is amazingly comfortable and the look manages to be trendy and polished at the same time. Petite was a good length on my short legs. However--the waist hits right at the softest part of my stomach, creating muffin top. And the front pockets are faux, which makes these pants LESS suitable to wear to work--in an ultra-casual workplace--than jeans (I like to hang my work badge from my front pocket).

Now for the photo reviews...

1/2) Halogen scallop edge sweater: Wearing size XSP. I was surprised by how substantial and high-quality the fabric is. Love the color, which is like a tomato red (I think; Angie is the final judge of that particular color!). Length, which I worry about sometimes when buying Halogen petites, is long enough for pants and not too long for skirts. But--is it a bit too big in the torso? Photo #2 is my attempt to show the creasing in the back. I can pinch off a good inch or two in the back without affecting the front view at all, except that it's less prone to crease. I could live with this fit but I will try to order the XXSP when it's restocked for the public sale opening.

3) Barefoot Dreams circle cardi: Wearing size XS/S. Super duper soft, but the fabric is chenille in texture which makes me feel sloppy (also the sleeves are too long, which doesn't help). In the current stage of my style journey I'm trying to shift towards structured pieces that are still comfy--like the James Perse jacket I reviewed yesterday; without reflection, I tend to vacillate too far in one or the other direction.

4-6) Mother high waist step hem jeans: Lots of pics of this one because I'm undecided and my mirror location is still horrid for photos. I don't own any true high waisted bottoms because I'm short-waisted with a long torso and a rectangle body type, secondary apple; all adding up to very little natural waist definition. Hence photos #4 and 6 are rather unflattering to my eye; #5 with an untucked top looks better, but I don't know how much of that is recoil from how hippy I look in high-waisted jeans, heh (I know that I am still pretty slim no matter what, but my actual hips are on the narrow side so it's jarring to see them look wide).

The good: denim is super soft, high waist fits me better than any other high-waisted jean I've tried (no muffin top or cutting in). I like the step hem style, although I'm not sure if these are a tad too long for me. If I'm convinced that the high-waistedness is OK, I can ask my SO to take better photos to show the length over the weekend.

What do you think of the Mother jeans on me? And do you think I should size down in the Halogen scallop sweater or stick with this size? I'm second-guessing on the sweater because everyone else has found that it runs small.
