My first batch of online orders, from the first day of preselection, all arrived today. I found a few things that I love, but struck out on shoes... still awaiting some more items later this week, including a few of Angie's top picks, so I'll do another round of reviews when those arrive.

1) Not an NAS review but a sneaky OOTD - I really liked the outfit I wore today, so I took a pic of it Uniqlo white flared skirt, crochet tank made by me, and white slip-on sneakers not pictured because I don't wear shoes around the house.

2) Leith jumpsuit: I was surprised to really love this! However, it has a fatal fit flaw on me: the torso is too short (I do have a long torso for my otherwise-petite height of 5'2"). Sob. The length could also use some hemming, but the torso can't be fixed. I pulled it uncomfortably high up in the crotch for this photo, otherwise it was indecent on top. But I think it has a lot of potential if you're looking for a jumpsuit and don't have a long torso. Can be worn with a regular (black) bra, although note that the straps are not adjustable.

3) BP Faren booties: I snuck in an in-store order for these booties when I went to do some shopping for the SO. The fit is weird though; it runs small and narrow in the toe, yet wide in the heel. I normally wear a size 5 in closed toe shoes without socks, 5.5 in booties. I tried the size 6 in store and it fit okay, maybe a tiny bit long, except that my heel was slipping a lot. So I ordered the 5.5, but it feels borderline too short and is pretty fitted in the forefoot, while the heel is still a bit too wide. Returned.

4) Trouve bateau neck sweater: I don't like it quite as much as last year's, mainly because the sleeves are dropped so they fit longer. This sweater doesn't come in petite and I ordered size XXS, same as the one I have in last year's version. The bateau neck wasn't so wide on me that it showed my bra. I haven't cut the tags yet, but it fills a longstanding need for another midweight tunic, so I may keep it even if it's not a 10.

5) Just my cat being adorable She's 13 pounds of big-boned fluff, squishing herself into the gap between two Nordstrom boxes.

6) Hinge ruffle mesh blouse: Another surprise love, and it fits me this time! I sized down to XXS and the shoulders had plenty of room (I'm usually a size 2 through the shoulders). The details are hard to see on this top, but it feels surprisingly well-made. I plan to wear it with one of my older black lace bras though instead of the long-line bra that I ordered from NAS; the long-line bra looked a bit weird when paired with a high-waisted skirt, creating a narrow horizontal gap of stomach which is a body part that I'm self-conscious about.

7) Zella Glam high-waist crop leggings: Took my usual size XS. It fits fine but I found the mesh unbearably itchy around my calves after a few minutes. I'm somewhat sensitive to this sort of thing though, so YMMV.

8) James Perse double breasted blazer: I ordered this jacket last year and returned it because it looked awkward over a fluid cotton popover shirt. This time around, I ordered two sizes (0 and 1) and tried them on over both a tee and the Trouve sweater. Verdict: keeping and LOVE the size 0, which has shorter and more fitted sleeves that still stretch to fit comfortably over a light sweater. I've already cut the tags on this one (and just returned the size 0 to the Palo Alto store, if anyone is looking).

9) Dolce Vita Marra double-zip bootie: I loved the light grey color, close ankle fit, and dressy look of these booties. Unfortunately, like Angie I found them too hard to be comfortable The size 5.5, my usual bootie size, fit fine although might not have fit an extra insole.

10) Gentle Souls Carole zip sneaker: Loved the patterned fabric and the supportive fit of these shoes. Well-made. But the ankle and heel is definitely cut for a wider foot

So far I'm very happy to have found two HEWI's, a cropped black topper and a sheer black blouse (surprisingly, a classy sheer blouse is hard to find). I would like to order some more shoe options, although my size starts out low in stock and is sold out in a lot of styles now.
