I ordered a few things during the NAS, most of which were sale items but some not. I thought I’d do a little thinking out loud and analyze what didn’t work and what is still being considered. There were other sale items I was interested in, but they all sold out too quickly to even try. I don’t know if my posting this is of interest to anyone else, but helps me organize my thoughts and keeps me on track!

- KK dress - not a sale item but a rare casual summer dress with some length that appealed to me in photos. I did not like the print on me — strangely widening on the chest. Returning.

- Rails gauze shirt - not a sale item but I’ve been on the low-key lookout for super lightweight, breathable but not sheer long-sleeve shirts for summer. I didn’t have high hopes because the plaid shirt by Rails was tight in the bust, but this has an easier fit. Color might be a little dull, or maybe it’s good as a neutral. I’m going to try on again and see how it styles, but this may be a keeper.

- purple Zella top. Tried in a M and a S, and the M was too roomy. I like the color and this seems a nice alternative to workout tops that look strictly like workout tops — I can wear it for a photo hike and then to walk around town without looking so gear-ish. Keeping.

- Vagabond boots. Not a sale item.
I loved these but they were too short in the foot in the 8. Full sizes only so I’m waiting for the 9. Hoping that with an insole they will work for me! The higher shaft is great on my long calves and will allow the boots to be worn easily with crops and skirts in fall/winter. Crossing fingers.

- Floral skirt. Surprise impulse buy in person. M fits great. Seems flattering enough. I like the colors. But is the print too ditsy or cute for me? I’d just style it with a black tee and black sandals to tone down the cute factor. Pics included (with a black workout top — a black V-neck or my padded shoulder tee would be better). I’m on the fence. Opinions welcome.

- Frame boots. Good looking but I (slightly) twisted my ankle almost immediately upon putting them on — not as stable as the Vagabonds and I like the higher shaft of the Vagabonds better. Returning.

- green ATM tee — color is darker in person, a pure Kelly green. I like the color, but the fit is messy — too much fabric around armholes. Returning.

- Herschel floral backpack - so not a need but fun and I adore the print (have a jacket in the exact same print!). Keeping.

- Edelman mixed media trench. Surprise pick. Great fit. Not a need but I don’t have anything else like it. I’m pretty sure this is a keep, but of course I will leave the tags on until wearing season.

- Z&V printed blouse - love! Keeping.

So it seems four sale items are definite or likely keepers, which is reasonable, even restrained considering what I’ve bought in bigger years.

And a possible keeper in the skirt, pending decision.

Two possible non-sale item keepers in the Rails gauze shirt and the Vagabond boots, if the new size works.

Not a bad mix of fun and practical items. Two of them (the backpack and the Zella top) are going to use right away — I’ll take them on my trip to Maine later this week. The others will have to wait for cooler weather!
