I've just prowled around looking for a scan of the NAS catalog and I found it!

I have been saving up my shopping pennies and trying to decide if I should buy a couple of things I have my eye on or if I should wait. Now that I've seen the pages, I'll wait!

I'm considering opening a card so I can drive to Chicago and shop the presale. Are there any details I need to know about how this works? Are you only allowed to shop the presale with an appointment? or is that just helpful to have?

Oh my gosh! The boots and booties and colored leather jackets and color blocked pencil skirts! I'm stoked now!!!

Unfortunately I won't be participating as I would have to apply online for a Nordie's card and delivery/returns is just too pricey to Canada. If I could hop the border for a shopping trip though - I'd be buying! Love the rich colours.

You can preselect starting on the 11th as long as you have a card! You can open the card that day in the store and then go shop! An appt isn't necessary... you can work with any available sales person.

And SIGH, I can already tell it's going to be VERY difficult not to get carried away. I still remember last year's excitement (my first NAS) and how many fabulous items were on sale. The catalogue is super promising.
I'm very curious about those python ankle boots, the B&W calf hair booties, the green (teal) leather jacket, the blue colour-blocked scarf, and that's only the start;-)

Do you only need the Nordstrom card for the pre-select sale starting July 11th? Can us "regular" folks shop the NAS sale starting July 20th?

Yes, everyone can shop the sale on July 20th. The card just lets you shop early.

Oh, Marianna, an app is 100% necessary in my neck of the woods. There is no way you'll get into the flagship NAS preselection tents without an appointment.They are very strict here - I guess because it's the flagship that gets EVERYTHING. Perhaps things are different in Chicago?

Shannon, non-card holders can shop the sale starting on the 20th (I really suggest a Nordies card though!)

Angie, for us appointments are encouraged, but you can still shop without an appointment. They've hired a million new SAs who won't have appointments yet and will be available to help. If you have a Nordstrom card you can go inside the tents! I don't see how they would turn away a Nordstrom card holder from shopping if they wanted to.

At the Flagship, the NAS preselection tents fill up so fast that it's chaos! People grab stuff in front of other people and cause a commotion. Clothes, shoes and bags are flying all over the show. I saw it with my own eyes. The only way they can control it is with an appointment. It regulates the chaos in the tents.

Last NAS I had just moved back to Chicago and was a sales person. I didn't have appointments or clientele yet and I helped a ton of customers who didn't have appointments. It was crazy and chaotic but there were many people who didn't have appointments and needed assistance. I know my store allows any and all Nordstrom card holders to shop pre-select and we are also one of the top-event stores in the company. Interesting!

I'm not sure Marianna. Any tips on which store would be closest to me? I'll be coming down I 94 through Milwaukee. Which store are you at? Are you booking appointments? I don't love a crowd, so it would be great to have a friendly face to help me through it.

Is it true that they are letting selections go home during the pre sale?

Traci, my store would be closest to you! I work at Old Orchard in Customer Service. I don't sell, but I can set you up with a Nordstrom card. You can take your goodies home that day.

Wow! So many beautiful temptations, and this is only a fraction? Oh dear. I need to focus -- several of the low boots and booties are calling to me, that cobalt coat, the mod Calvin Klein dress, the plaid W&W skinnies, and much more. Focus and remember my primary season in my neck of the woods.

I will be buying the Halogen girlfriend cardigans in red, green gold and possibly one of the blues as well as whatever sizes of the petite skirts I can find.

The Nexx black/white blouse might be on my list, seeing how well the solid colors have worked out fo rme.

I wish the teal or plum leather jackets could come home with me *sigh* but I will just look at them longingly from afar.

I can back up what Marianna said about our Nordstrom - you can shop without an appointment, and there is never a doubt that they welcome all cardholders. It's a great atmosphere. I am sure the flagship is an absolute zoo, Angie! I also shopped the presale on Michigan Avenue, and it seemed more of an imperative to have an appointment there, which I did. Our SA there preselected for us, and I must say I was not impressed. Guess I have been spoiled by Angie

Oh, KL, are you going into Ogilvie Station? Then the closest store by far will be Nordstrom Michigan Avenue.
