Building off of April's complaint: It's always confusing to know where the boot was measured. Sometimes they measure the boot opening, which is not terribly helpful, and other times they measure at the widest part of the calf. But often there is no way to know. Some measurements just seem made up out of thin air. I find online retailers confusing about giving measurements like heel height and boot circumference and also inconsistent about categorizing boots by calf size.
Finally, I don't think designers realize that calf circumference and weight/size are really not related. You can be slim and small and have large calves, or large and curvy and have skinny calves. Just because clothing sizes are getting larger to accommodate larger people doesn't mean the effect needs to trickle down to boot circumference. Look at how many people here have narrow calf issues! It's a crime that we are such an underserved market. I understand everyone with wide calves probably hates me now, but honestly, they have so much more choice because they are treated as a specific market. They even have websites that cater to them. We narrow calf girls have NOTHING. No one is hearing our cries!
