I'm a whole week late posting my version of Angie's formula!

It's very hot here in India now, and a denim jacket is completely out of the question! However, my denim vest was the perfect substitute here.

#1-3: Wearing navy blue chinos, blue & white striped tee, light wash denim vest & slip on sneakers.

#4-6: Another easy summer outfit that it becoming a favourite!

Oh gracious, Maneera, how I adore that first look on you. I love the denim vest over the striped shirt. It's so chic-casual. Also enjoying the delicate coolness of your striped skirt and flowy top. You look amazing. Stay cool!

Yes, both great looks. I particularly like no 1. Great interpretation of the ensemble. Love those sneaks with it. I don't know how you manage to look so cool and polished in the heat.

I love both looks, stripes are a fantastic way of making basics items such as t-shirts more interesting. I really love the denim vest, as it adds interest without the warmth of a denim jacket - that is something that could work for me living in a warm climate too.

Brooklyn - I'm blushing! Cool & polished - can't ask for more! Thanks a bunch! But did you miss noticing my shabby hair I was feeling too hot to keep my hair open!

Bijou - the denim vest was a wildcard last summer and it turned into a workhorse. It's actually a very old vest that I got shortened.

I can see why the skirt outfit is a favorite, it's very flattering. I like the way the sandals reflect the stripes on the skirt.

#1 is pure flop-proof casual chic. But #2, well, you totally nailed it. I can see why it's a favourite. Sandals look perfect. Can we get a closeup of the necklace?

Thanks Rio. The necklace is a silver tassel in a gold chain (I made it myself). I'll send you a pic of a close-up next time I wear it....but here's as good as it gets from the last batch of photos

Maneera, you are like the YLF Summer Scout, running on ahead, reminding us how to dress for hot weather!

Isn't it interesting that stripes seem to communicate cool crispness in outfits? They always add a bit of polish to casual looks, too.

Love both versions -- and am really enjoying the floaty top over the fitted skirt!

Beth Ann - glad to be of service! I'm happy to hear our early Summer means I can give plenty of ideas to all you lovely Fabbers. Truth is, by the time summer arrives in the USA, I'll be all out of ideas here, replying upon tried & tested uniforms. It takes a WHOLE LOT of effort to plan how best to wear minimal clothes without running around nekkid

Thanks Sharan! I thought of that denim vest as soon as I saw Angie's ensemble! In India, you can't wear a denim jacket all year round. In fact, there is a very short window for a jacket (late Nov & late Feb only).
