No sequins here, but Sylvia's outfit on Tuesday reminded me that I have these gold-printed satin pants, and not enough fancy places to go this season, so I copied her casual take for a regular work day. The day was cold but the ground clear of snow, so I could get away with both a very warm sweater, and sneakers instead of boots.
On top, slouchy cowl in wool and cashmere. On bottom, the thrifted satin trousers. For shoes, my black Ecco sneakers.
No accessorizing, I figured the pants are doing all the work. I even plaited my hair with a black velvet scrunchie, to keep from overheating and to add a bit of sleek.
Not shown: worn with my new-last-spring black puffer and black fingerless gloves. I didn't try to copy Sylvia's houndstooth tote, I just carried my everyday black leather tote, oh and my black and white polkadot insulated lunch bag, does that count?
Funny thing, when I pulled up the camera roll, it showed me an outfit from a year ago: the same pants worn glam glam (for me) with a gold shell, velvet-lapel jacket and heeled booties. Definitely casual feels the right take for 2020.
