My summer kaftan WIW

Or hospital gown, hah.

I have never owned a kaftan before. Chose this primary for the colour. It is a muted apricot, with the tiniest hint of metallic sheen. Very pretty fabric! I happen to like this flowy, sack like look. To me it looks feminine and romantic. And the dress has pockets! Win.

Two attempts at quick styling. One boring and textbook (which to me works best), one with my infamous Japanese toilet slippers. It suddenly appeared to me that the shoes are too saturated for me? I thought the icy blue would work with my colouring, but in pictures the colour looks really dominant. I never would have seen this in the mirror! So educational to take outfit-pics. And seeing others! Thanks style friends!

You are 100% right, this dress is gorgeous on you - flowy and such a fabulous colour. I particularly love it with the blue shoes and supporting jewellery and don't think they are too dominant.

I love that color on you! You and I pretty much seem to have totally opposite color palettes and I enjoy seeing these colors on you since I cannot wear them, haha!

I also love the Japanese toilet slippers and absolutely think they work on you, I love them with the dress. Perhaps I need those in that tangerine or melon color that I otherwise cannot wear.

What an artsy vibe! That fabric does look divine.
When you wear it with the blue, which is a fresh pop of color, I would definitely pair it with another blue accessory like you did in the last pic. Maybe you need baby blue ear rings ;).

Yesss, come join me on the dark side of summer kaftans - embrace all that fabric billowing around you like a free, in-built fan. I'm sorely tempted to throw all professionalism out the window & just wear my black & orange paisley to work already, lol!

As for the colours, you look ethereal Continue to wear these 'sweet but not saccharine' shades in honour of those of us that look more ghostly than angelic in them, lol

I feel I am so bad at accessorizing. I have never paid it much attention because I have felt it is for the advanced dressers, while I am still a newbie, struggling with the most basics: cuts, colours, looking current (at least non-dated). But it is often what makes a look. It certainly makes a look go from "good" to GREAT. Is this what they call "the third piece"? Yeah, that is what I lack

You look wonderful! I love seeing it outside in motion because the little breeze is showing off how the dress moves and drapes so beautifully. I think the sandals are fab! I think bookending with some blue (like you've done) does the trick. They don't look jarring to me at all.

I love it with the blue slippers and splash of blue in the bracelet. Like you I have never taken much notice of accessories but they reallly make a difference. That is a really pretty colour and with the styling of your hair, it makes it a really elegant resort look.

I'm surprised how great it looks in nr 2-3! Really. Tans/beige(soul sucking ones) in big amount are (at least they were to this point) a big NO to me. (me is almost same blonde complexion)--but really love it on you! Think the trebdy cut-the texture and the subtle shine helps a lot!
