Thanks, everyone! I'm loving it so far, but have only worn it to browse online and watch TV I'm not sure yet whether this will prove an "everyday" piece for me- I certainly won't wear it to work, to exercise, or when cooking/crafting of any kind. But for out and about, shopping etc, think I might. I haven't worn a ring in years so it is going to take some getting used to!
Julie, I'm laughing at your cheeky comment. While I have no immediate plans to wed, I'll definitely be going to this jeweler if and when the time comes! My Mum's been going to him for years, I have a couple of his pieces and am really attached to the style. It would likely be something really similar (gold, bezel-set) but with a more "neutral" stone. I'm not a fan of diamonds so I'll have to keep thinking- luckily, I have time!
Actually, odd story about my relationship with the jeweler. When my family moved into their current house, I found a gold and citrine ring between the floorboards in my new bedroom. I was only 3 years old so didn't wear it, but treasured it for years. When I was 16 it no longer fit me (it was *very* dainty), but I really wanted to wear it. So my Mum took it to her jeweler to see about having it re-set in some way for me, as a birthday present. When we got it back, he told us that when he first saw the little gold ring, he couldn't believe it. That ring was the first piece of jewelry he ever sold, right after he got into the business almost 30 years ago! How it ended up in our house we still haven't figured out (as it hadn't been sold to any of the owners that we knew of).
