The NAS usually kicks off my Autumn and Winter seasonal refresh. In fact, I started even earlier this year by buying a dress in the Netherlands a couple of weeks ago - (when visiting my Dad) - at a very reduced price from Dutch sustainably and ethically produced brand, Kyra & Ko.
It is gorgeous! Fun johnny collar. Very comfy, well made, crease-resistant, and works with my blush/white/turquoise/navy/light blue/burgundy compliments (added more of my Finds so that you get a sense of how well the pattern works with what I have). The background is NAVY, not black. It looks like a sheath, but it's not. It's A-line, and I can run around in it very easily.

I stay focused yet open-minded with my seasonal refresh. I have a shopping list, but will happily branch out if the items feel right and are of a similar vibe. You just never know what you're going to end up with, and I love that spontaneity!
I also strongly stick to my DO NOT BUY LIST.
This is on my current seasonal shopping list in my usual palettes:
- Blush Coat
- Pants Suit (preferably not neutral)
- Short puffer (neutral or non-neutral), but not gear. G-Star has some fab ones so I might get that item there instead.
- Wellies for the beach with the doggies (this makes sense to Seattleites!)
- Pleather Jacket
- Dressy Pants.....always looking for cute dressy pants....
- DRESSY ITEMS IN GENERAL!! (I have had my fill of casual, although fashion hi-top and low top sneakers are fine because of my walking lifestyle).
What I am NOT buying at the NAS:
- wardrobe basics
- workout wear
- gear
- lounge wear
- beauty products
- jeans (I am buying those at G-Star, Everlane and Frame these days)
- tops and knitwear that do not layer well under toppers
- anything too Summery
- anything too casual
- blouses (but shirts are okay)
I have to watch my gung-ho pattern-loving-gene. I am very attracted to patterns at the moment, but need to add more solids. Blast! That will be challenging
I will also look at Homeware. Found fun stuff last year that we use a lot.
It doesn't matter if I get nothing at the NAS. It's all in good fun, very relaxed, and I'm good at saying "no thank you", and "next"
