You would think I’d have enough black in my wardrobe, but for the last few years I have not had a solid black casual moto-type leather jacket except an old very cropped Theory that I don’t think I’ve worn in a couple of years and only really works with dresses, and my cropped asymmetric Helmut Lang (which I have worn, but only with dresses, as it is a very specific style that is not terribly versatile). I am thinking of finally letting the Theory jacket go.

So I was game to try both the oversized faux shearling jacket and the Treasure & Bond jacket. I also like the casual Blanc Noir wrap jacket. I like all three and could see all of them being workhorses, but would appreciate feedback.

1-4 Faux shearling jacket in black and brown (I’m going with black, but the brown is nice!) Sized up to a L to give room for hips, but others with straighter or more ITish shapes probably wont need to do that.

5-7 Blanc Noir Jacket (I unzipped and turned up the sleeves in 7). TTS, this is a M, and I’m a 6-8 top, 8-10 dress these days.

8-11 Treasure & Bond convertible moto. TTS, size M on me.

12-15 Mural plaid coat — snug in the hip if I button it all the way, but it’s not the kind of topper I anticipate wearing fully closed. What do you think? I think if I size up it may be too bulky across the shoulder in back. I really Iike it. This is a size M.

16-18 Caslon knitted tee in olive stripe and white. I especially like the stripe. Size down — this is a size S.

19-20 Halogen balloon sleeve sweater in black. TTS — this is a M.

21-22 The Pliner loafers are really cute! They seemed comfortable last night when I tried them on, and they didn’t slip off my heels, but I had been on my feet all day, so I’ll be sure to try them on again when there is little chance of my feet being swollen, just to be sure. TTS, 8 fits me fine.

I also decided to order the Kut plaid pants to check those out. I love the ones from a few years ago, but I’ve gained weight since then, so the waist is a little tight. I ordered two sizes so I’ll see what happens when they arrive.

ETA sizing notes in case that is helpful for anyone
