My "Mary Quant" (inspired) daisy skirt

Hi, I've spent a lot of time on the forum today ( Saturday) while also doing washing, taking a walk to the clothing bin, driving my son and his friend to a 21st that he will bus home from. I'm working extra hard at work as a colleague is on holiday and it's winter. This is one of the outfits I don't wear enough because I can't wear it to work- not professional and a short skirt! I fell in love with the skirt on sale because it made me feel like Twiggy or Jean Shrimpton or someone. Not very realistic! Worn out to dinner with DH and best friends.

What a fun look! I can see why you enjoy this skirt, and I think it's a great going out skirt. I agree it's too short for work. I would never be able to squat or bend in a skirt that short, and I'm sure you do some of that with your work. I know I do! (Different specialties, but I'm guessing you see some children.).

What a fun skirt, and you look great in it with your tights and booties. It's nice to have a kicky, sexy skirt for going out that you don't wear to work.

The skirt is so retro fun, Jenni, and I really love the addition of the cognac here. Gives the black a luxurious touch and makes the yellow daisies pop even more.

Jenni I love this on you. I actually like having some clothing that is off limits for work, it really makes me feel in more of a vacation mood when I wear them. You look great in this shorter skirt length too - just lovely in every way.

Isn't this fun! Love your accessories with this - they seem to pick up on the 'eye' of the daisy. Off topic - I saw this daisy print a lot in Japan a few years ago.

I really like the short skirt and with leotards, I think it is demure enough for a casual workplace (though you are the best judge of that!).

Thanks all for the nice compliments! I feel too schoolgirl in this to wear to work as well as it being short, I like Bijou's thought about having some things that aren't for work being good for a relaxed mood. It feels fun and makes me feel younger to get away with this sort of outfit occasionally even at 56 years old! I do have to watch myself though as I have rather too many "going out to dinner with friends outfits"

I love a good bold floral skirt! I can wear shorter hems more comfortably with dark hose or tights, so it's good that I like the look, too.

It's wise, of course, not to overload on "going out" clothes, but I think it says something for you that you enjoy being with people, and like to dress for a celebration. I'm glad you have fun items in your closet!
