WIW out to breakfast at the weekend - a knit moto with studs at the shoulder & my silver booties. I wish I could find really casual clothes that felt as good as these.

#3 - Went to the art gallery to see the Turner exhibition (for the 3rd time). I had worn this outfit before & liked it so it is now officially a FFBO.

Love it!!! Caro really casual clothes are too casual for the elegant eclectic, I don't they make us feel put together or interesting enough

Deborah - my natural optimism makes me think there must be a solution but you may well be right. What do I wear down the park with my grandson? Maybe some silver footy boots?

It's really nice to see you in fall clothes Caro, It's like a different side of your style comes out. If the clothes are comfortable, then why can't they be worn in casual settings? Or do they not launder easily? I find that is my biggest constraint with casual clothes, because with my casual lifestyle, delicate or dry-clean only fabrics are impractical.

CL - Thanks - I am so happy to be out of summer clothes. I could wear these as a really casual outfit - apart from the boots. The problem is (as you have highlighted in the past) once I take off the jacket & boots all I am left with is a tee with pants or jeans. There is also the problem of footwear. Maybe there are times when style doesn't come first - eek:)

I found these silver casual shoes in a quick search - would you consider something like this to wear to the park with your grandson? They would work with the skinny pants you are wearing in both of these photos!

I am going to come steal those booties from you! I love the studded shoulder jacket too -- you look great! I know what you mean about jackets and boots being such a style definer. I feel a little lost in the hot weather, hence my search for cool new sandals.

Oooh! You look fantastic. Love these outfits! I absolutely hear you on the casual issue. At the moment I am dressed very casually (denim shirt, olive khakis, belt) and feel as if I am in my PJs. Not enough zing and sophistication --- though it suits my purpose.

I love Krista's suggestion. Maybe it is a question of getting colour/ texture/ shine into our more casual ensembles. In your case more texture/ shine.

Krista - I have tried these sorts of sneakers in the past & have always ended up giving them away - maybe the silver would give me the vibe I seem to need to feel great. Thank you for the suggestion I'll give it a try:)

Janet - yes footwear is where it all begins for me (then jackets).
