Finally my camera is working and I can take pictures. I’ve realized the camera shows flaws you
might never see when looking in the mirror.
For example, I never knew how frumpy my black dress pants look (you
won’t see them here) even though they’ve been extensively tailored. More important, I am quite unclear about my
personal style.

And that’s the problem and my reason for joining YLF. For decades I had to wear fairly formal
business dress. I never felt it was
really me, but it took up most of my clothes budget. Now that I’m retired, I don’t know how I want
to dress. This is partly an age-related
issue. I’m 70 years old. I’m not unhappy about that, but the kinds of
clothes I like to wear are not the clothes you see on many 70-year-old
woman.

So, are skinny jeans appropriate for someone of my age? If not, what is? How can I dress in relatively current fashion
without looking ridiculous? Perhaps
that’s not possible, but I certainly hope that’s not the case.

To get the discovery process started, I’m posting a picture. It’s not really a WIW, but I’m posting it so
you can see what I look like. I’m
wearing my favorite cashmere sweater and some nondescript black jeans.

On a positive note, I do know what colors I like to wear. My neutrals are navy/denim blue, black, white
and golden tan (to match my hair). Most
of my other colors are bright, and include most blues, watermelon red, pink,
rose, turquoise and aqua.

Thank you for looking.
Hopefully you will have some comments and suggestions.
