The long and the short of it :

I have been growing the short side of my hair since the first lockdown, which began here in Israel in March. I figured lockdown was the time to see what it would be like to have a symmetrical style.

But the longer it got, the more miserable I became. With one side short, it seemed to matter less what form the longer curly side took - the short side gave my hair and face some structure. With both sides going every which way, I was only satisfied 1 out of 5 days at best - and went down the rabbit hole of curly hair tutorials to try to control my hair.
Finally, about a week ago it dawned on me that my old hair cut, which I have been sporting for at least 6 years, was the best haircut I ever had - little upkeep, many compliments, and I liked what I saw in the mirror and forgot about it. I had been vaguely worried that it was getting dated, but, empowered by Angie's outlook on DYOT I assured myself that is no longer a thing .

Only one problem, we are in our second lockdown. (Sigh, I will refrain from discussing how frustrating that is.) So...on a whim, I asked my 15 year old daughter to cut my hair! We examined a picture of a version I particularly liked, and she went for it. It was very spontaneous, we had a blast and were delighted with the result. It might not be as precise as a professional cut, but it works for me!

Attached are a before and after. I hope you can see what I see about the structure the cut adds to my face - but it is ok if you prefer the before. I would be very interested to hear what you think!
