Loving all the burgundy. I use it, and variations of it, as a "nearly neutral" so I like having a fair amount of it, not just occasional accents.
Still, I don't want to add willy-nilly, so I will be putting the items below (not all have arrived) through their paces to see if they work to complete outfits, add rich color options, and compare even across items, such as, are the burgundy shoes more useful than the burgundy jacket, and, do these styles work.
I had spotted these AGL's earlier in season and had been resisting duplicating my "nude" AGL's from several years back, partly because they just seldom go on sale in my size or color choice, it seems. But, articles on "power flats" notwithstanding (Corporette, for example, emphasizing pointy and studded--they got some reader pushback, though!), I work in ballet-flat rich environment, so it's a very mainstream look, and also my "eye" prefers them with many pencil skirt outfits over oxfords and other clunkier footwear with nude hose.
I agree with Staysfit that having too many buckle& strap-toe flats was not my goal, but this rich, subdued color is a great for me, offering just slightly less harsh look than black-with-nude legs, plus work with some tights, and my other AGL's have proved comfortable and have had "happpiness longevity". I like that they have a small stacked heel.
Also may try the Chelsea pleated trousers for fun, though will have to see how practical they are, and if they "split wears" with culottes.
ETA added pics of the Talbots blazer and the AGL flats.
