For those who have kindly supported my search for light coloured boots, the ones I felt meet my criteria arrived today!

They are not the color they look on line:)

They fit perfectly, I like the style as its a little different for me, they are warm BUT the color! I think this color is too warm for me?

I have already printed the return slip but thought it wise to show you first.

I am tempted to return to the the original shearling boots as I can't quite get them out of my mind.

Anyway what say you re these boots?

Love these boots but my advice is, if you don't love them, send them back!

I think I prefer these to the 'shearling' boots Deborah- less casual and more your style. The colour is fine to my eye but I don't imagine you wearing them with the outfit in the pic!
Maybe try them with a fresh outlook tomorrow and a different outfit?

I trust your eye instead of my monitor. Even though they are gorgeous boots I'd pass if you think that they're too warm.

If you keep going back to the shearling boots maybe they are the right ones...

I think you're right and they're too warm a color, giving a bit of that suntan hosiery effect.
I love the color of the shearling boots on you. But they're more casual and outdoorsy/wintery and did you want a dressier boot?

Thanks Vildy. I have packaged them up to go back tomorrow. I have found another pair tonight on line and have ordered them. If they are not the right color I am going to give up:).

So frustrating when you order something and the colors are off when they arrive!!

I don't think they are too warm for your coloring but ... I don't wear a lot of warm neutrals so for me they would be more challenging to style with my existing items. If your wardrobe is similar in that way I could see how they wouldn't work well.

Can't wait to see the new ones you ordered!

Sorry to hear about your boots Deborah - it seems like coloured footwear is difficult for many. I think they look fine but I hear your "no love" for them so sending them back is a good idea. Keeping my fingers crossed that the next pair will work for you!

I'm not in love with these, either. I actually find them to feel more casual than the shearling ones because they are slouchy and seem like they have a thicker look around the ankle. The tan color also seems to be more rugged rather than blonde.

Anyway, don't settle! If you are not over the moon for these, keep searching. Light colored are hard to find, but you'll find your perfect ones!

I really like the idea of a blonde or tan boot for you Deborah. The color of these actually bookends your hair nicely. I'm not crazy about the slouchy vibe for your style (I can be bold since you're returning them) but I'd LOVE to see you in a really sleek boot! I hope the ones you just ordered work out!

I agree that you did the best thing returning them. They look a little "thick and bulky" and the color is off. As Claire suggested, something sleek and in your desired color is what you're going for.
