Ah, rute, you give me hope. I had started down the right track but then sickness and vacation threw me off. I WILL get back to it and be celebrating like you. You look great, but I know the FEELING is the real reward, eh?
Rute, you look gorgeous in the before and after photos, but honestly you look younger in the last two. I think it is so great that you made this decision to take care of your health and achieved this very difficult goal. It is truly inspirational, and so is your style!
You look fantastic Rute!!! You have inspired me. You look younger and more radiant for sure. I'm not just saying that, I thought that before I read your post about your work collegue's comment. A bit of jealousy there I'm thinking!!
Congrats on the weight loss! I too lost 40 pounds, about a year ago now, so I understand the elation of reaching that goal!
Reward yourself with a whole new wardrobe now, that's what I did! Awwww, poor us....LOL
And get rid of all your old clothes (as nice as they were) so you don't have *anything* to go back to. If you regain the weight you'll have to buy another wardrobe. That stops me from gaining much! LOL
I'm another who thinks you were/are a textbook example of how to dress the body you have and look great at any size -- but congrats on bringing healthier habits into your life!
As you transition into maintenance just remember that it's completely natural to have days (and often periods!) of less-healthy eating and dialed-back exercise...but you've proven you have the skills to re-correct your course whenever needed.
Wowzie Rute, you look like a well dressed teenager. I'd say taking that weight off also took a few years off.
You know what? I thought you were perfect before, but now you look even better! Lucky guuurl!
Thank you! You have touched me!
Mo, I've started already, today I did a bra fitting (all my underware was big) and bought 2 amazing bras! Next step will be pencil skirts! Love them and mine are so loose I saw and amazing one at Karen Millen
Kari, at first it was only the tought that I need to exercise, I was always so tired! I choosed a Gym that they make a mensal check-up on your progresses (weight, % of body fat) my inicial % of body fat was high and they told me I to try to reduce eating well and working out more often.. I felt shame on the second montly check-up, because I hadn't lost nothing and that was my turning point.. I did not want to feel that way anymore!
Rose and Joan,I have dropped two size numbers!
of course.. it depends on the gender, height and on your age. I'm 41 and they told me the ideal (healthy) was between 25% and 33%.. when I started I had 40%, although I had only 13 extra pounds. the body fat was their main concern. They measured it with a equipment I had to hold in my hands for a few seconds.
