I have been watching most of the 90s trend revivals from afar - some things I loved then but not anymore, or are best left to my teen kids (striped ribbed tops, carpenter pants... seeing them on my daughters makes me happy for them but not excited for me, for whatever reason).
However, I have been admiring Docs on forum members, and borrowed my daughter's recently to attend a 90s throwback concert (The Cult), which felt dead right. But even back in the 90s I did not have black or cherry red pairs - I wore them in oxblood or brown. So I have been patiently waiting for the right pair to come out...my time has come! They came in 48 hours and are gorgeous. Dark enough to function almost as black in my wardrobe, but with a subtle difference.
And the other night on the subway, heading to another concert (Duran Duran), I noticed some of the "kids" are now wearing jeans my 90s way... midrise, hanging off the hips, wider straight leg. This is how we did it, before true low rises became such a phenomenon; not meant to be sexy or revealing, just cool - in my everlasting opinion, lol. Now I see the Gap is offering something I think will recapture this vibe for me. They have lots of washes; this faded black takes me back but I will probably try the brown.

Friends, it's my time, second time around! Is anyone else feeling the same vibe?
