Angie's post brought back memories of 1970s jewelry. I was a jewelry minimalist, so when I acquired several gold chains in that era I though I had become a maximalist. Looking back, I wasn't. I had several fine gold chains--all the style them. I think I still have a couple, one with a broken clasp. I had 3 longer gold chains that I mixed and wore a lot.

Some of these weren't so dainty, but compared to what came along in the 80s, they were.

One was a 30" cable that I later had made into a bracelet. A pearl and gold necklace later became a lariat style. and my tiger eye and gold chain was shortened. I wore them a lot in the original forms. Unfortunately, all were carried off by burglars in 2012. I had a friend sell a few other chunkier no-longer worn pieces when gold went through the roof a few years ago. She got a commission and the proceeds went into an educational fund.

Ever since the chains came back I've been eyeing larger gold link chains like the one in Angie's post. Since we're not traveling for Christmas, maybe I'll get one. I don't know about multiples though. Ther is this adage that if you wore it once long ago, you should not wear it again when it's back in style.

On the other hand, who cares about old adages these days?

The beach photos were Laguna Beach. Favorite vacation spot for years.
