With the disappearance (massive closure of stores) of Kit & Ace from my city (and it was getting increasingly dumb anyways) , I've been on the lookout for another resource for that elevated athleisure look. A local company , Mondetta Apparel Group, has a wonderful line called MPG (Julianne Hough has a capsule under her name) which is all-of-a-sudden getting a ton of media, and is increasingly active on social media. It's been hanging in Hudson Bay in the athletic wear area for a few years, and also sold in bits and pieces in boutiques (their striped workout tights are "iconic" here) but I'd never paid much attention to it until a local blogger I follow posted herself wearing a few pieces recently. I ordered a jacket, then a cashmere blend (about as much cashmere as Kit & Ace used too, lol) tank, and then a long sleeve t-shirt....and then the flood gates opened. I have a large order coming in this week including a blazer (VB knockoff at much more palatable price) , 2 pairs of pants, a couple of tanks and t's and a really cool puffer jacket (that I need like a hole in the head, but it has such great sleeves! ). There may or may not be some socks and a tote in the order as well. I lost track. The pieces are perfect for business travel , everyday wear, and can be dressed up or down. The website is divided into athletic, and everyday wear pieces. The quality is impeccable for such affordable pieces, and I like the idea of supporting a Canadian company (although pieces are made off-shore...)
