More WIWs: Fun, different, boring

In order. The first outfit was my fave, of course. Scrunched pajama jeans, Uniqlo tee (thanks for the rec, Greyscale - love these!), and Birks! Wore this to clean around the house and then go for a hike (changed to sneaker for that).

Second outfit worn to a Cinco de Mayo party is a swingy Anthro top I got in November - it is printed with little tigers - and my distressed white Gap jeans sized way up. I wore this with silver loafers. A little different and boho for me. Ugh, my face looks burned from being out all day!

Third outfit to work today. Felt kind of blah despite two faves, the Lanai jacket and the Equipment shirt. Neon necklace gave a bit of lift. I think I just prefer casual!

Bonus of Kona lounging in the sun!

I really like you in your work outfit and pulled back hair. Just perhaps not as fun as #1 and #2. The tee in #1 is great, will check them out. Kona has the right idea!

Well I think 3 looks super, not boring at all. And 1 is divine. 2 is a cool different look for you. I love the white bottoms here.

And of course 4 is the best

The casual outfits look livelier somehow not sure if that helps. The other thing I notice is the work outfit top is longer. The longer top coupled with wider pants would make me feel a little blah too - I still think it looks good though.

Your work outfit is just as fab as your casual style. It still looks like you. With Kona you have instant elegance.

When I first saw outfit #1, I thought, "Oh that's sooo Una - in casual mode!" I really like this outfit! The proportions are good and I love the harmonious neutral colour scheme

Outfit #3: was that the "blah" outfit you were mentioning on my thread? Can I ask why you feel that way? Too formal/polished than what you're used to?

I think they all look great! I do get the impression that casual is your preferred style? I love the work outfit but I would be inclined to update the wider leg pants for a nice sleek straight leg:)

No, I think it's the completely untucked buttondown over straight pants. That's why I thought you might feel the same with bootcuts. I'm used to fluid over skinny, and straight pants feel like a no man's land somehow. Your post made me ponder it more. Any more wisdom?

Una!!! Great point! I, too am used to fluid over skinny! Could it just be a matter of training the eye, or are we IT's just not cut out for the fluid over straight or fluid over bootcut thing?

But wait, don't you consider BF jeans "straight leg" as well, or are you talking about pants with a bit of flare?

Hmmm....I think BFs work because they still taper a bit at the hem when rolled. I'm not sure how I'd feel about a wider cuffed leg. Food for thought!

An experiment in the making, perhaps?

These are all super! I think the neon necklace and the awesome blazer really keep this so far from frumpy! I love the anthro top and white jeans. So perfect! You went hiking in the pj jeans? Are you crazy? Did you keep the duplicates?

Kelly, I did! They already look trashed right? The silliness of trying to keep them pristine pushed me over the edge. But yes I have my backup pair! Also they shrunk a lot even air dried but stretched out again after wear similar to the Gap BFs...

Una I have issues with straight pants myself, I pretty much always feel frumpy in them. The casual outfits are perfectly you and look great, and you know I love the neon in #3. What about a soft printed shirt instead of something so structured?

*gasp* I love the hair in #3. I'd prefer a bit shorter shirt in that outfit, but great idea to un-bore and Una-ise things with that necklace.

And yes, I can see why #1 is a favourite. #2 is good, but I wonder what the top looks like with darker footwear as counter-balance (or bookend?) as the trimming is drawing my eye to it only.

All of these look fab! I know you generally lean towards casual looks but your more dressy/polished outfit looks fantastic! Love the pop of color in the necklace against the dark tones.

All three outfits look great. #3 isn't boring, just dressier than the other two, and I like it with the statement necklace.
I love those PJ jeans every time I see them. Good for you for wearing them hiking! All too often I try to keep my clothes "perfect" - but these are already distressed, so the more distressing, the better!

I like #3 best!!! The straight leg pants appear to have a bootcut silhouette(?)! What do you think of tucking the shirt? Being an IT, if you wanted to switch to skinnies you might need to swap the shoes for boots or something more bold/prominent? The statement necklace is a perfect highlight piece!

All three are great! The first look is my absolute favorite, love the pajama jeans, Birks and high/low hem on the tee! Could it be that #3 reads more cold weather than spring?

I don't know, I LOVE 3. That necklace absolutely makes it. I think it is a fabulously sleek look. Love 1 and 2 and the dog, of course, as well.

I loved 3 (looked at the pics before reading the text)! Interesting that you think it's the trouser cut that's making it feel blah. I don't care for bootcut/flared trousers on myself, but I'm good with straight legs as well as tapered.

Anyway, your casual looks are great too! You look very festive for your party.
