(The first thread is here.)
I was in another three stores today and I have now been to all those which are more or less in my neighbourhood. First off, I asked one of the SAs today and she explained that to get the 100€ off I would need to buy glasses for at least 200€. It would be great to get as close to 50% off as possible of course - it doesn't matter how you get over the 200€ though. So I can take cheaper frames with more expensive lenses or more expensive frames with cheaper lenses. They have set price categories for both frames and lenses, so some combinations work out better than others.
#1-#6 are the frames from the first thread. I now think the CK are too expensive, but I posted them again all the same to have the pics together. I didn't revisit the store from yesterday, so I have no idea if #4 would be available in a different color. I don't think I want to go with black...
The following are from two stores I visited today. Again, sorry for the quality of the selfies...
#7-9
Best plastic frames I had tried until then. But, rather similar to the ones I have now, brown front with differently colored temples. They also sat a bit awkwardly on my nose, not sure if they could fix that.
#10-12
Metal again, but purple and not partly rimless this time.
#13-15
Rather classic and more neutral metal frames, more expensive.
#16-18
Partly rimless again, but with less visible nose pads.
#19-20
Oversized tortoise shell for Archer. The shape actually worked rather well, but they're veering rather Hipster to me...
Thoughts? I could probably have a look at two more stores tomorrow after work.
(Not buying new specs at all is still an option.)
ETA
I went with #7/8! It can take up to two weeks until I can fetch them, I can't wait. Fit issues were fixed with a bit of heat. And I indulged myself and got sunglasses as well, pics further down. That's my spring/summer wildcard gone...
