More black tops (from Loft) for the "artistic" skirt

I posted yesterday about the unusual layered skirt I bought in Quebec http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....e-me-do-it and trying to find a black top to wear with it. Cocolion suggested I try creating a stronger shoulder line by wearing a top with cap sleeves or boatneck, rather than a sleeveless tank. I found a couple of cap-sleeve tops at the Loft: http://www.loft.com/loft/produ.....Color=5796 and http://www.loft.com/loft/produ.....Color=8078

What do you think? #1-2 - Loft origami detail top. #3 - Loft yoke tee. #4 - sleeveless drapy tank.

I like the more substantial knit and the neckline of the origami top - not sure whether the appliqué detail is too much.

I like the origami top pics #1-2 .It has a nice neckline and sleeves that flatter your arms too! The Origami detailing is very pretty and feminine/artistic.
Top #2 in picture #3 has a pretty neckline ,but the sleeves seem to be less flattering to my eye. It would still be good as a layering piece . The last top -the drape neck tank is lovely on you as well.
My favorites are the origami and the drapeneck tank.

I like the origami top with this skirt very much! The detail of the neckline complements the detailing in the skirt. A totally plain top might be just too plain for this skirt.

I do like the drape neck tank on you as well, it's a keeper. But I prefer the origami tank with this skirt when worn alone. Will you wear a topper with this skirt? In that case the drape neck might work well under the jacket/wrap/coat topper.

I loved 1 as the skirt needs some weight against it on top. The vneck didn't work at all to my eye...too much repeat of the v in the skirt

I love number 4! There is something about the way the v neck mirrors the upside down v in the skirt that is quite fabulous.

It also gives the outfit the illusion of being a dress which I quite like. In the final photo, where you compare all three, your waist looks teeny in the third pic.

#1 creates a perfect balance. The look with the skirt is fluid and it looks great. The other tops just don't seem to work as well to hey eye. Cool skirt:)

I'm going against the grain. I think you need a black top with a very simple neckline - no cowl, ruffles or any embellisments, to make this happen. The skirt needs something basic to ground it. The neckline that works best, to my eye, is #1, minus the ruffles. If that was my skirt, I would go with a boatneck tee, that hits you past the leopard embellisments, as in #3.

Thanks everyone! I decided to keep all three tops shown here because I think they will be useful in combination with other things in my closet. I had a couple of other contenders that are going back.

I am wondering whether the origami decoration is appropriate for work (for example, with dark wash denim and a black jacket) or looks a bit over the top.

Zap, I agree, a simple boatneck would be best. I am still on the lookout for one.
