Yoox black tops K/R or "Ironcurtin made me do it" :)

DH and I were in Quebec this past weekend to see Roger Waters perform "the Wall". Next day we spent some time wondering though the old city, and walked into a boutique where I found this skirt from Aventures des Toiles, http://www.aventuresdestoiles......php?lg=eng , a French company that collaborates with artists to create clothing inspired by pairings.

I think I need a simple tank top to go with the skirt. I was inspired by IK's recent thread on designer items on sale at Yoox (and by her fab style) to look there for interesting black tops. I bought four items to take advantage of free shipping - I can return any number of them. What do you think of both the skirt (too young? too puffy?) and the tops? The black jacket in pics 8-9 is an "extra" - not to go with the skirt. It has cool details, such as zippers on the sleeves, but seems to look a bit boring in photos so I am not sure about it.

#9 is a simple Loft tank I already own (basically, underwear for layering) - DH is convinced it works best with the skirt.

I think the skirt looks best with a very, very basic tank (like your husband says)./

I love the jacket! It's one of those basics with a plus, it's wonderful.

As far as the other tanks, I wish I could see them better - will try to lighten them on my monitor at work in the AM.

Must be convenient to have a YLF Forum scapegoat when your husbands asks, "why did you buy that?"!!! : )

I agree that a simple tank would be best. The trouble is, I am not very comfortable wearing a tank that is as open as the Loft one (narrow straps etc.) without a cover-up.

I added zoomed in and lightened pics below - it is certainly hard to see the fit/details of black items in photos.

I think the new skirt needs a sleeved top, like a short sleeved or cap sleeved black top. The strong a-line and detailing of the skirt needs a little more balancing on top than a tank provides; it needs a stronger shoulder line. A boat neck might help create that strong shoulder line as well.

With the white pants, I really like the way the 3rd, hi-lo top looks! I would keep that one.
