I just received my new birkenstocks- see link below. They have perforated side straps in metallic. Although I did want the thicker straps, I could not find them in silver in my size and I already have a pair of thonged white birks that I have been wearing with shorts and cropped jeans for the past 4 summers. I personally find them very comfortable for my high volume feet.
I am excited to now style them with skirts ( see pic 1) like in the middle women in the third picture. These are going to be great for the hot and humid DC summer and a NYC trip which includes a lot of walking.
