This post builds on my earlier response to Angie's blog post about boho https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....st-2131300 I appreciate all the responses I got there, helping me think through "my" boho.

Two issues arose in that discussion: 1. Whereas I like "lurking quirk"--those special details that you might not even notice until you are up close that can really elevate a piece--boho can be very "big" and dramatic, whether that's physically big, with lots of fabric to drag around, bunch up, and get caught on things, or visually/metaphorically "big", in that it can be loud and call attention to itself. (This also includes things like jewelry and scarves, which can be too much for me VERY fast) 2. I'd like to work with things that are already in my closet (although I've taken notes of things to think about when I do get back to buying). So I'm looking for ways to combine my stuff to highlight my boho side without making outfits that wear me.

The earlier post has lots of finds of things in my closet, mostly tops, that I think might work. This post is pictures of ALL my shorts, a couple skirts that I think could work for this style, and a few "special" tops/toppers. Please help me pull together coherent outfits that have that laid back cool, natural, easy style that let me feel like myself and forget the clothes.

1-3 I love this blouse, but have almost never worn it. It has beautiful details, front, back, and at the hem. It has slits, so I hesitate to tuck it in, but the way it flows makes it look like I have no figure when I wear it with pants. Wearing it with shorts--well, you can see the problem. I swear to you I have the same grey utility shorts on in these pix that I'm wearing with all the other tops!
4. Some people will object to the length, but I'm comfortable with it. What I particularly like about these shorts is that they have gathers, so even at their short length they look drapey, not tight. The cuff detail is nice too.

5. The fabric has a nice woven "linen-y" feel.
6. Shorts! They have such wide legs, they almost look like a skirt. Fabric is woven, slightly rough. Should I redo this pic with less motion?
7. Simple, neutral Kut walking shorts
8. I used to wear this to teach, with a khaki jacket and blue tank, but I think it is ready to be dressed down (once I fix the hem).
9. Yikes! I would need to get this taken in. Cool thing about it is that there is a bottom piece (hope I can find it!) that makes it a midi. But even then, it is still a fairly straight skirt. It has a lot of fabric for a pencil skirt, but can it go boho? It's made of technical fabric with has some woven texture to it.
10. I like this wrap skirt with its dark floral pattern, but can never figure out what to wear it with.
11. No. Not boho. These pix are all my shorts, otherwise wouldn't have included such prepsters. Rachylou, feel free to take on the bohoization of these Hilfiger shorts as your special assignment, lol.
12. Botanical J. Crew Factory shorts.
13. Floral and moody, work well with cranberry T-shirt, but that kills any boho potential. The embroidered top (in yesterday's post) would seem like a natural, but it bunches up
14. I had this tank for years before unwrapping and then it was instant love. Only issue with it is the figure-hiding length.
15. My favorite color, linen top from Anthro. What to wear it with?
16. Who, me, hippie? I like this top because despite its ornamentation, it is very lightweight and doesn’t feel the slightest bit fussy to wear. I might try layering it under the paisley button-front shirt in finds in the other post, once it’s cool enough out for jeans (and assuming I have blue jeans that fit me then. Or should I try that with white or pale pink skinnies?)
17. Dang, I like this color! This knit top is from Eileen Fisher
18. Very comfy, feels-like-me summer outfit. I like that the detailing on the top takes the place of a necklace.
19. Rarely worn top, because the fabric is itchy. Who has more creative ideas than an undershirt?
20. I thought I wanted to wear the cardi with all white underneath, but when I tried it (posted the outfit last year) I really didn't like the look. What else to do with it? What patterns and colors should I try it with?
21-22. J Robbins 2-piece dress. Is it too prim?
23-24. My hat.
25-end. Random pix on my harddrive.

Backdrop for all these pix is our shutdown "gym"--a crate for a weight bench, 1.5 L bottles of water I put in fabric totebags to use as weights, resistance bands...

Original text of this post: Doing this post in two pieces, because I had it all typed out on my phone, went to do something else for a second, and when the phone locked, the post vanished. *sob* So here are the pix. Text to follow from my laptop.
