Hi all

I went to Melbourne with some girlfriends to see the McQueen exhibition at the NGV: “Mind, Mythos, Muse”. First plane trip since 2018!

First, a few WIWs. Night time photos are a bit choppy due to space and light constraints at the hotel.

Pics 2-3 (first day): I wore my new “extreme baggy Dad jeans”. They are not “extremely” baggy on me but (miraculously) they are indeed loose from the hips down. I haven’t felt this comfortable in jeans since the 1990s! I’m fine with the distressing/whiskering. (You do you.) Allsaints tee, which I shortened to hip length. New water resistant Ecco combat boots and old Zara jacket (worn throughout the trip).

Pics 4-6 (dinner): I wore a long crochet dress. It was sold as a Summer item but it’s a very heavy cotton and too hot for my Summer. Good for transitional weather. On the first night I wore a long cotton dress underneath in pale emerald green (DIY dye job from white). A wrap top and combat boots to casualise it. On the second night I wore it with a wine coloured dress underneath (also a DIY dye job), and straight hair, to change up the look (no photo).

Pic 7 (second day/McQueen): Oversized “anti-fit” cargo pants with sleeveless turtleneck top. Jacket and boots again.

Pics 8-9 (third day): This was the warmest day. I wore the wrap top from night 1 again, jeans, jacket, boots again.

Pics 10-28: Highlights from the exhibition. It was hot and crowded but it was fantastic. The exhibition went into some detail about the various sources (historical, artistic and cultural) from which McQueen drew inspiration. I am in awe of McQueen’s skills and artistry. “Sabotage and tradition”. Loved it
