As many of you know, we lost our doggie Brooklyn (my avatar) to cancer 18 months ago. I felt that loss very deeply.

Earlier this month, we took the plunge and adopted another doggie, who we have named Siena. She is around 8 months old. She is a cross breed dog, found wandering the streets by the local authorities. By the time we adopted her she had been in the pound for almost 2 months, poor baby.

She is a good girl, for a pup. Very smoochy. Eager to please. Boisterous. Super playful. A bit wild. (I did say “wild” would be my word for 2024.)

She is now enjoying her 2 walks a day, trips to the dog park and cafe lifestyle. Lots of training, which is quite a process.

Wish us luck! I admit that I start this journey with some trepidation. I get so attached to my dogs and they have such short lives. Each loss is harder than the last one. And I still miss Brooklyn so much. But it is a joy to have a dog in our lives again
