Maybe I’m not a Converse person ?

I don’t seem to have much luck with most Converse . The basic low top canvas Chucks and the Pro Leather Low Top are fine , but these high tops have to go . I’ve tried 2 different versions of the Platform Cold Fusion Run Star and returned both . I think I have to acknowledge this shoe is not for me .

I ordered these a couple of weeks ago , went back and forth on returning them , decided to keep and wore them to work today , and my feet are killing me . Ugh .

I also keep looking down at my feet and seeing these huge shiny white rubber trimmed shoes and I feel quite clown like

Hoping I can return them - have only had them on for 2 1/2 hours . Is that bad manners to return after wearing ?

I have learned over the years that wearing converse on my feet leave almost every part of my body in pain. It starts with the arches on my feet, and works its way up to my calves, knees, hips and back....I like converse on others, but they have not worked on me in recent years....fortunately, there are so many other choices now!

This Brand/style is not for me and it reminds me something very cheap from my PE at school ( poison eye I guess).
I returned shoes in similar situations- to Nordstrom mostly. I’m sure you have some better options in your collection ( or you’ll find the right one from a different brand/style).

I can’t wear Converse either. Too wide and leave my feet in pain. Also not a fan of how they looked on my feet.

Those look cute to me. But -- alas -- I can't wear Cons at all, either. I did like the platform version of about five or six years ago (a more refined platform than the current one) -- but -- in walking on hills I got some awful bumping of my toes on the toecap and serious pain. And while I didn't suffer a fall from the big lug-soled version like Angie did, I did find it heavy to walk long distances and although I wore out the red pair, I let the mustard one go after about a dozen wears. And now, I've signed off Cons for good. Fun to look at, terrible to wear. The iconic version is the worst possible shoe for me, ever, bar none. So -- not going there!

I use Protalus M75 insoles in my Converse. They work wonders. I can’t walk in them without the insoles.

For the life of me I cannot find a pair of regular Cons high or low that will fit my feet or appeal to my eye. The fur- lined black high tops I used to have are the only exception, and I am really hoping to have success with the similar burgundy ones I have ordered.

I do think that Cons look weird if you look down on them; best not to. LOL. And also, this maximal print may just be too much for your eye since the style itself is pretty loud IYKWIM.

Returning after wearing two hours? I think it's fine if there is no visible wear or markings.

I can only wear certain Cons, and even with the styles I found that worked, fit has been an issue when I tried to duplicate. I adore my turquoise Shoreline mesh Cons, but when I tried to get them in black or white the following year, they were too wide and fall off my heels!

I have two pairs of high tops that only work for me with insoles snd thick socks, so they’re for late fall-winter.

I realized that I can take the white toe and white sole if it’s broken up with the black stripes, so I can see why this particular style keeps grabbing your eye while you’re wearing them — it’s a lot of pattern and a lot of white. A big statement, it may seem.

I would hope that after such a short wear you could return them, especially for comfort issues. Good luck!

I like the print, but the white toecap seems odd to me. I don't see clown, but I felt the same with the Vans I passed on: Just Too Much Feet.
As far as I know the rule is, if you wore them outside you shouldn't return.

I've never worn Converse, but did try on a pair of the Chuck 70s today. I understand they have better arch support and I actually thought they might be a contender for me.

If you love the shoes, it may be worth exploring if an insole would help with comfort. I know some swear by them. And if you just don't love them, I suppose no harm in trying to return.

I can’t walk far in Converse. They were ok when I worked in offices and would do a lunch walk or something, but an afternoon walk across town with the dog is a no go. I’ve also decided they’re a little too… ‘friendly’ for my style. My head is too round and friendly as is, if you know what I mean…

I know Angie uses insoles too , but honestly ? I don’t love them enough to do any work for them . And Janet , I think you’re right in that they are just too maximal - in an unflattering way . These are leather , which is very stiff too . Grr .

Funny, I have big ole feet and wear Cons happily all the time! I think they look cute. But my feet aren’t fussy and I am not bothered by the look of big feet - hiding my feet is futile!
I wear low tops only because I don’t like to highlight my ankles. If I had your ankles, I’d highlight them all day long, lol, BUT if you’re not feeling the look, banish them. I don’t think returning them at this point is a big deal at all.

And Suz , right …I had those golden yellow Cons too and hated them . Selective memory .

Cat2 - I love the look of Vans , and I thought exactly the same . Either you love them at first glance - or leave them alone .

I’m quite mad at myself for making this mistake again , but it seems so many women love them I felt I was missing out on something critical !

They barely hit the pavement today so I’m going to try to return them .

I have mixed feelings about Converse myself. Not sure they look good on me, considering they make my too large for my height feet, bigger. I try to ignore it since they are comfortable for me. JFE or not fab at all? Love them on others, though.

I really love minimal soles, helps your feet feel the ground properly. I have quite a few pairs of barefoot shoes (all in various states of repair). The rubber toe cap parts can dig in sometimes with converse, that's the only thing I've found to be a problem. I think it really just depends what your feet are used to. Really stiff shoes feel really uncomfortable for my feet as I feel I can't bend them properly.

I would never wear Cons without using an innersole! With a pair of Superfeet they are good for all day wear. I’m not a fan of lug sole anything, nor the high top - so the traditional low is it. Only one pair in my collection atm.

I’ve never liked Converse on myself—big white boats is how I think of them on my size 8.5 feet—plus I find them very uncomfortable. There are so many other choices these days, anyways. I almost never see them on other women my age, either, so I don’t feel like I am missing out.

Hey, I keep trying Birks and every time I slip them on I’m like “hell no.” I cannot fathom how they are so comfortable fir other people and feel so wrong on me!

Honestly, I think most sneakers and flat boots kind of look bad from a “looking down” perspective. Lucky others don’t see them that way.

But if they hurt, they should go.

I haven't owned Converse for a while, and I have toyed with the idea of some high tops - but have resisted. Probably just not for you either - why force it when there are so many other options!!

I feel the same about white shirts and plain white tees - every now and then I try one, and then I remember why I don't wear them when I try it on. But I like and admire them on other people so much.

LisaP those would look so much better to my eye with a black toe cap. I cannot wear any sneakers comfortably except a pair of very soft leather Pumas. They were initially uncomfortable but have finally broken in. I say return them without guilt, looks like a lot of people find them uncomfortable. Probably not constructed anymore like they were back in the day when they became so popular.

Janet I purchased a slide sandal similar to Birks but with one wide strap this summer. OMG my feet were in shreds after the first wearing. It was one month ago and the blisters still have not heeled! Incredible that such a simple shoe could do so much damage.

As far as trying to return them…imagine if you were the person who received them next, how would you feel?
If you knew, I don’t think you’d be happy?
