but definitely not more adept in the photo taking department!

I feel that I'm really getting my basic wardrobe together, and I've set a goal that when I'm out shopping I will look for 'higher quality wardrobe pieces'. Pieces with longevity rather than fast fashion.

I was ready to spend $$$ on a pair of pointy toe black booties for the fall. (try saying that phrase several times after a few glasses of wine) I tried on many high end designers to no avail - too narrow in the toe box, heel too high, top part of the bootie digs in my lower leg and on and on. Finally, what worked for me was a pair of booties from Aldo for about a third of the price I was willing to lay out. They are extremely comfortable, the heel height is perfect, and while I wish they were a tad more pointy, it wasn't a deal breaker.

I also thought I would like a pair of patterned jeans similar to the ones Angie had featured last week. While shopping with my mom at Winners, a pair of skinny jeans with black tuxedo stripe caught my eye. For less than 20.00, I was a goner. I could picture them with the booties, and a taller pair of boots.

So a few questions - what do you think of the booties? Did I settle too quickly?
I think I remember seeing the tuxedo stripe on pants last year - is it still in style? Or is this the reason the prices was so good
Do the jeans work with both the booties and tall boots?
