Maxi Dress

I've always been diametrically opposed to maxi dresses, but I've had such a hard time finding summer dresser this year that I bought this one planning to have it hemmed. I wore it to the park today as is. I'm thinking about hemming it to the bottom of my knee.
What do you think?

I like the maxi dress length, but then I like maxi dresses. I think having it hemmed to the knee would work nicely too.

Chewy! It's so good to see you again. Cutting off the maxi to just below the knee sounds like a great idea for a summer dress in your desert heat. I ended up doing this cfor a Mother of the Groom dress last summer.

OH my goodness, Khris, I am usually opposed to daytime maxis, too, but you look like a GODDESS in this! What a fantastic shape, color, and drape for you. Making it into a high-low will be brilliant.

I am normally not a big fan of maxi dresses, but you look really great in this. The draped neckline is stunning and the entire style works really well. I'd leave it as is.

Oooooh.... I was set to say don't shorten it, because you look divine - but I LOVE the high-low suggestion!

Wow! You look like a Grecian Goddess in this! That said, if you were going to alter/shorten it at all, I agree with Angie in that you'd want a high-low effect, just shortening the front a teensy bit.

In the meantime, you look *fab*, and it's such a nice treat to see you post here again!

It is so lovely to see you! How is your back? I don't like maxi dresses but this one is so gorgeous. I agree with Angie, if you hem make it a high low. You are looking gorgeous.

I love this on you. I like it just like this, I personally wouldn't touch it but I have a greater maxi tolerance. It really is stunning. If you want to dress it up you can add a gold belt and higher heels. For casual I like it just as is. It looks so easy and great for our hot non-Coastal California weather.

I love maxi's and I think this one looks fab, but I love the high low idea if a maxi is not your thing.

Amazing dress, I like this dress, I recommend a site whcih sells wedding dresses and prom dresses: LuckBridal. The dresses there are sooo cheap and top quality.

Like others, love this neckline on you and the color is divine. I really like Angie's suggestion of turning into a hi-low hem. Gorgeous dress on you.

Thanks Angie- I hadn't even though of doing it high low. I really do need to hem it- it was just too hot yesterday. My hair is a mess! I gave up on my old hairdresser- the last year he just does the same cut over and over, even when I ask for something different. I'm ready for a drastic change, and so letting it grow out a bit before I try a new hairdresser.
Deborah- thanks for asking about my back. I gave up the brace because it wasn't helpful. I'm swimming for exercise and seeing a chiropractor regularly, which helps. I'm learning to modify my life to minimize flare ups and not having to take any prescription meds, so I am happy.
I really have missed so many of you!

I love maxis, and I would either keep it that way or hem like Angie suggested - hi/low hemline.
