Gorgeous dress on Meghan! She has yet to make a wrong turn as the soon-to-be and now Duchess of Sussex. Harry looked very dapper although nervous ... they were very sweet together throughout the ceremony and carriage ride. Loved the elaborate hats! Oprah was pretty in pink.

Very classic dress in the style of Audrey Hepburn I thought.Both she and her mother conducted themselves with dignity and grace and I thought that the whole day was lovely.

Yes, the tiara was really nice. The dress was very simple and elegant (as I had expected)--and also a little bit boring. So was her bouquet. I had hoped for at least one element of surprise ...

The children were charming. The young cellist was excellent. The weather was perfect. And Harry & Meghan looked happy.

The dress wasn't what I expected, although it's not something I gave more than 30 seconds of thought to. I do like it though ...especially the train. I wasn't crazy about the veil/hair combination - something there felt a little matronly to me. I REALLY liked her reception dress though . Shoulder and arm envy .

I get what you are saying (although I was pretty crazy about the hair/veil combo), but I thought Meghan was the classic example of the woman wearing the dress-not the dress wearing her. I love Kate, and her fashion can be exciting. But sometimes I think it overwhelms her. I think Kate the woman was shown off more in her clothing selections before she was married—although I don`t know if I can be more specific than that. Anyway, I am always cognizant of the fact that these women are real humans. Thanks, royal ladies, for letting us watch and comment on your looks!

I felt the dress was pretty good, as appropriate as possible given all the givens: covered, plain, pretty

I did think the veil train a tad bit long... on the other hand it will be 30 years, if ever again, that we get another wedding like this. The little girls need something, lol!

I did like the gospel choir singing Stand By Me. As secular things go in a high church, nice choice IMO.

It was honestly the most relaxed wedding I’ve ever seen. Hahaha! Fun.

Loved the gown - elegant and the veil- which they announced had embroidered on it the flowers of every country in the commonwealth. That’s awesome. Not a fan of tiara- meh.
Also saw post of her second reception dress which was a stunning Stella McCartney number.
Loved the mob celery embroidered set.
I was struck by the number of pink outfits and skirt suits among the guests.
....... and my position stands- does Amal Clooney ever look bad?

I loved the minimalist dress but part of we wanted a little more something... lace or a little bling. Anyway, she’s a very pretty girl and they are a beautiful couple. This was definitely a fairly tale wedding.

I think the dress was flattering, and Meghan is beautiful, but honestly I found it boring. As a whole, I thought most of the guests played it very, very safe with the fashion. Everyone looked nice but there was very little out of the box or truly stunning, fashion wise (in my opinion).

I loved Amal Clooney in marigold yellow though! And the music was incredible.

ETA: I much prefer the reception dress.

I didn’t watch the event but in photos she looks lovely. The dress was understated for sure - perhaps just a wee bit plain but I can appreciate the minimalism. I was not wild about the middle-parted hair, but she’s gorgeous no matter what.

However I adore the dress in the reception photos — wow! That truly showed her beauty to advantage. They looked amazing rolling out in that Jag. Very Bond.

I was not the biggest fan of her first dress. The fabric seemed thick, and it seemed ill-fitting to me. However, her second dress stole the show! The halter style was gorgeous on her, and she looked like she really owned that look.

I was underwhelmed by the wedding dress and the hair. The dress didn’t seem to fit well through the bust - maybe she lost weight leading up to the big day?

She is a beautiful woman with a lot of resources at her disposal...I was expecting more.

However, the reception dress was absolutely fab. It suited her sooo well.

Amen to the reception dress! And getting in the Jag with a dashing uniformed prince! Most fairytale moment of the day.

The wedding dress was indeed subtle, but beautifully cut. Very refreshing compared to the extravaganzas on Say Yes to the Dress, where more (exposed bust, bling, etc) is more.

I read that the veil's embroidery included floral designs from all Commonwealth countries - but difficult to see on tv - I thought it was plain tulle at first.

And that diamond bracelet!

I just caught a few pics. The second dress was stunning. I haven’t seen the back of that one, which I’d like to see.

The first dress I appreciated the neckline and although I didn’t think much about what she would wear, I found it different than I expected. For that reason (no lace, no bling), I appreciated the starkness of the dress.

Amal Clooney really can wear clothes well. She has presence and boldness. I thought she had the best guest dress from the pics I saw.

I thought she nailed her look perfectly. From what I’ve read, as an independent woman in her mid-thirties, Ms. Markle wasn’t much into the dewy-eyed, fairy-tale, “I’m marrying a prince” aspect of this wedding.

I think her choices clearly showcased her desire to be an equal partner in this union instead of just a fashionable adjunct (no small task when your spouse is the grandson of the monarch)—and I loved the way Prince Harry looked totally smitten every time he glanced at her. This Duke and Duchess of Sussex are going to be an interesting team in the Royal family.

I love that she chose a minimal look, natural makeup and both dresses looked very modern princess to me and absolutely gorgeous. Funny how she looked more poised that Harry in the pictures (he looked just fine but a little more nervous). Apparently professional acting is a better prep for a royal wedding than literally a lifetime of being royal.
I thought her mother and Amal Clooney were stunning. I am not a big royal fan but this wedding is really fascinating me. I think the new duchess has big plans to make a difference in the world.

I thought her dress was perfect. Very minimalistic and simple but flattering. The way the dress was designed the attention was on her face and shoulders. Very nice. I liked that she did not have lots of lace and glitter. She comes across as an independent woman with opinions. That will be interesting for a member of the Royal Family.
Now the sermon was really amazing. I loved how Meagan smiled during it. Yeah for her.
I haven't really looked at the reception dress but from the what I have seen it is gorgeous.

I found the day fascinating. Her dress was so simple but so elegant and style wise, so good for that day, that setting, that amount of public scrutiny! The evening dress looked wonderful too and such a beautiful aquamarine ring. Wonderful that it was Diana's.

I found it wonderful to see that Harry and Meghan really do look to be absolutely head over heels in love. The sermon was superb. Stand by me made me well up.

Amal Clooney looked devine! Fab colour.

And yay! They are Duke and Duchess of Sussex and we live in Sussex.

came back to add that what i loved about her wedding dress was, IMO it was a dress that was designed put the attention on her and the occasion and not on the dress. IMO it was a dress designed for a women who know that this was a chuch event not a red carpet event, and that she, as an actor and now as member of the royal family, would have plenty of other occasions to wear red carpet dresses.

Agreed, kkards. I could not have said it better. Given the variety of criticisms she might have endured from her outsider status as a commoner, an American, a woman of color, an actress (Grace Kelly not excepted), and a divorcee (Camilla not excepted), she had to avoid gratuitous extravagance, garishness, solopsism, etc. That said, I still expect she chose the gown she wanted (within certain parameters, of course), and I thought it showed her off to perfection while maintaining appropriately regal scale. To engage with the popular discourse, I agree that symbolism matters. I enjoy everyone`s perspectives, however.

SF, I am not sure - there isn't a Sussex seat, but it would be fab if they spent more time here and they can rely on me to be waving flags! DH says he is going to invite Harry to the local Rugby Club! DH is a coach there. I don't think this is a real thing, but it is lovely to think of it.

KKards I agree, such wisdom! There is something about Meghan and Harry having such a huge amount of self knowledge, and their absolute conviction that they can do good in their lives.
