So my really good friend just asked me to be her Maid of Honor. I'm very touched.
Anyways it's going to be a small courthouse with dinner at a restaurant afterwards, in August, here in Seattle
She said I can wear any dress I want. I do not want to upstage here obviously, or go full whackadoodle. Last time I was in a bridal party, I was a bridesmaid for a Vegas wedding. I wore a red satin, full length David's Bridal dress. That was a long time ago.
I'm thinking something knee or midi-length. Not black. I should probably buy it sooner than later, given Fall stuff will in be stores mid-summer.

Here's a huge list of ideas. Nordstrom's selection really disappointed me. At my current weight would probably need a size 12.

I think that blue is similar to denim, so should be good.

I like the first VW dress! It preserves your style (I feel like it would be hard for you to make the fit and flare dresses your own without adding a large dose of whackadoodle). I love the color and the length would be great on you because you are pretty tall.

I agree with Jenava that I can't really see you in a fit and flare. I like both VWs. It's been a long time since I've tried anything of hers on, but I remember the sizing runs really small. =(

Nice selections. The first link didn't work, but I find most of those appealing in one way or another. However, I gasped just a little when I saw the first VW. I could see you rocking that, for this occasion and elsewhere. I want the second VW for myself.

I love the Vivian Westwood dresses. I also wonder if you'd consider an interesting shirtdress. (That's me living vicariously, because I have some sort of vague goal of finding an amazing formal shirtdress for some future event.)

I also could not get the first link to work.....but aside from this they all worked and you have found a great selection.

My personal favourite is the 2nd dress but it might be too fancy for the occasion. After that I liked the 3rd and the two Vivienne Westwood ones. I think they could be styled in a variety of ways being a one colour dress - pumps, caged sandals, platforms, boots etc and with a variety of accessories from simple to bold to flamboyant.

The third one is a stunning stunning dress that I could see working too. I loved the stripes and the shape.

I like the second Vivienne Westwood one you posted. The first might be a bit much for the occasion. The Anthropologie one seems too casual. The Stella McCartney one is gorgeous but wow, super expensive.

I could see you in the striped Anthropologie one--I like the shaped hem, because it gives an eclectic twist to the classic style. The two Vivienne Westwood styles are more sophisticated and I think they'd look dynamite on you. Also the Topshop one that Diana found.

I love both VW dresses for you; somehow I envision a solid dress for the occasion. Maybe because traditional bridesmaid dresses are solid? Mainly, I think those dresses would look great with a hat/fascinator or the like.
