I think they're awesome. I like the dip detail at the top of the back, and they look like they fit your calves well.

Love (LOVE!) the shape of these on you! Is it the back detail that makes them appear to gape from the front view? In photo #4 they look like they fit perfectly.

To be brutally honest - even if you weren't a tall boots gal before, you should be now. BUT, these do look like the gap a lot at the top. Can you take pics with better light?

Ditto what Aida says. And truly, Heather, I understand why historically you wouldn't want to hide your gorgeous legs...but to my mind, tall boots only highlight them! And these are beauties!

The gap on these boots appears unavoidable. The way the boot is cut it creates a "flap effect"

Heather, I didn't see your post before I posted. I have no clue if the gap is a deal breaker, but I know I was told that some boots of mine weren't best for skirts because of a similar gap. [shrug] If your gap is ok, then maybe mine is as well?? One can hope.

Love!! How do they feel? The heel seems very high. I see what you mean about the flap creating the gap appearance and I don't mind it. I would keep as long as they don't kill your feet.

To me if the gap is caused by the flap (as in, if you were to hold the flap down the boots don't gape) then it isn't a deal breaker. They are lovely boots and look very nice on you

If we are being brutal here, I would LOVE them without the flap, but that extra piece makes them look like they are too high and too wide at the top. I'm not really sure what the backless portion is supposed to do; usually I only see that on otk boots or on styles that are supposed to cuff. Kinda hurts me to say that, because the details on the ankle area are gorgeous, and I adore my own DV boots.

Okay, I am downloading the Macks over jeans. *tapping foot for download* The flap is there with the denim as well. I think they were designed this way or else my leg should be even larger around the knee?

Rita: I have a pair of taupe/mushroomy slouchy boots from Zara that I bought in Paris last year. I wore them only a handful of times last season. And I LOVE them. I think I have a fear of sausage legs? Oh and these boots are super comfy heel height wise.

I hate to be so needy. I should just post all of these boots I own and never wear. I have brand new Kelsi Dagger OTK taupe boots (never been worn). *sigh*

Well, I did have a pair of tall Banana Republic black boots that just cashed out; however, I mostly wore them UNDER trousers.

I think I just need an eye adjustment.

I'm with sarah! I want to see you in tall boots, OTK boots, slouchy boots, everything! I think these are pretty darn awesome on you--you have such shapely legs. I think the style is suppose to gap a bit because of the cut out in the back. Very shexy! Let's see your boot collection so we can you sorted!

If I am to be absolutely brutally thug like about it, I think you could do better. These are very, very nice boots and they do look pretty terrific. However, the flap makes them appear gappy and with your killer gams, I think it takes away from their shape a little.

Can't understand why you wouldn't wear boots like this, but, I hate to say it. I feel like these boots are not tall enough for your long legs. I think it is meant to be an OTK style and on you it is not quite high enough. Either that or the top is just a tad too loose. Can it be adjusted? I love the style on you.

Comparing the website pic with your photos, it seems as though they are too big around your calves (*sigh - lucky you to have lovely legs!) and are not sitting properly. The website makes it look as though they should be smooth all the way up (or more closely fitting?) where the pair you are showing look to be a bit slouchy above the ankle. Then they'd be a bit taller, and the gap at the back would make more sense as it would be right behind your knee. Beautiful boots, so if there's the option available I'd go back and get some that are more snug around the leg. Or you could wear them over skinnies and pull them up that way? Just a thought.....

You have AMAZING legs and I definitely think you should get out all of your tall boots and start wearing them. As far as this specific pair goes - I think they gap too much at the top. Have you measured how wide your calves are? - have your measured how wide the part of your leg is where the top of the boots end? The description says that the boots are 15 inches wide - that is pretty wide - there are lots of boots out there with narrower shafts that I think would look better on you! If it were me, I wouldn't settle for these - as much as I love them - I'd keep looking for the "perfect" pair.

Shame on you for holding out on us!

I think the flap is intentional. I am still torn whether it is a deal breaker.

So if you didn't know me, just some random gal on the street, would your eye wander to my boots and you say to yourself: cool boots, but terrible fit?
