I love the shape of the toe and the heel, and you can definitely rock tall boots, but to my eye these do look too wide for your slender legs.

I like the boots with jeans, but not nearly as much on bare legs. I think it's the colour too. The style and colour seem quite harsh for your playful, girly and whimsical style. The flaps are part of the boots and they fit really well around the calf actually, so that is not the problem.

My suggestion would be to return these and opt for a "flapless" style that is stacked and sleek - much like Jonesy's new black boots. Something that is a little softer will look really good with your skirts too
