Low effort 2025 - YouLookFab Forum

2025 was a low effort style year for me but it was still good. I leaned into boho for simple summer dressing. Fall and winter has been more uniform dressing with oldies but goodies--jeans, sweaters and button downs. My goal this year was not to add to my work wardrobe unless it could be worn outside of work. That was a success and it was also a low buy year for footwear which wasn't really planned but I'll count it as another win.
I haven't seen much at retail that interests me so I'm planning on a low buy year in 2026. If anything, I will do some culling and get rid of some of the meh stuff. My uniform/capsule accident was rather eye opening. I've been wearing the same "outfit" for months - just changing the color of my sweaters or swapping in a button down and it's surprisingly been just fine. I don't crave as much silhouette variety as I thought!
The only want I have is for a non-nylon cross body bag. I really liked my Tumi and the Athleta replacement but I'd like something more polished - vegan or leather. LMK if you see anything that fits the bill.

Lovely outfit and great Christmas tree - feeling a bit jealous since our small apartment is not good for decorations ( plus our lovely kitty Tigra will tear it apart - lol ).
I'm mostly in outfit-uniforms all the time - especially the 2025 year - saves my strength for the other things in life .

Great plaid Christmas top, you and your doggie look adorable together. I also have a tendency to often wear the same style clothing just swapping around pieces and if works and you like it, then why not?

Hello my style twin, I own these exact boots, but in navy.

This has been my go to cross body for the last 2(ish) years, it’s slightly shiny texture gives it, at least IMO, a dressier vibe. But bc it’s a coated linen it’s super lightweight.

I tend to dress that way too, much easier in the morning. I like your plan to only buy work clothes that can also be worn outside of work. I am hoping to retire in a few years and don't want to have a closet full of clothes I don't wear so I might try using that as a goal as well. As far as footwear, honestly I didn't see a lot that was interesting in 2025. I am a boot person too and it was a lot of same-ole-same-ole at retail. I did dip my toe (hah) into the mary janes though.

Kelly you and Oreo look absolutely fantastic! Blundstones are such great boots. I think you should browse bags somewhere and see what you are drawn to. I have to say most vegan bags I come across are peeling and don't hold up like leather bags.

This crossbody is super-popular in my parts - the sporty look, but elevated because it's leather. Comes in several colours. And a woman-owned independent business which is a nice plus!
