You know, I was eyeing a pair of citron suede loafers for summer. I shied away because I thought they wouldn't work, but seeing this look makes me reconsider.
I've noticed in the past month or so I'm drawn to much more simple outfits especially like the first two. I used to be a huge pattern shirt fan but anymore I'm loving my solids.
Love these looks! I'm really battling the modern classics vs trendy thing: what is the right balance for me, so that I don't disappear (which is how I feel when dressed in all classic)? My FFBOs are modern classics (as is evident in this week's work travel capsule, which I will post later). Love the idea of mixing the black and white with the sharp bright loafer. And I adore the skirt in 3, with the hint of color. Maybe that's the right way for me to mix? 3/4 classic + 1/4 trend?
They're "singing" to me, too, Angie! Love the colored footwear and the dark wash jeans! I love the shape of the skirt, but would choose a lower contrast lining, I think.
It's 32 degrees here. A veritable heat wave. One of my students came in without a coat and in flip-flops -- with 18 inches of snow on the ground! Maybe I'll try these looks tomorrow in a spurt of midwestern optimism!

Love different colored shoes with the colorless outfits. I'm trying to keep an eye out for cute, comfortable, and inexpensive colored flats right now. I found a deep pink suede pointy toe flat with ankle strap that met all the criteria except comfortable.
I've generally avoided the loafers because they look too conservative/preppy to me, but maybe the right pair...
Loving these too! I wish I lived in a climate where loafers are summer shoes ... or where you could wear jeans, or jackets, or sweaters, or long sleeves in summer for that matter.
Wow! Love love love. I like a little more going on in the cold weather but when things warm up, I don't want a lot of stuff hanging off me. These are too warm for our dog days -- perfect for May and June.
Need to dash but will be back to comment properly. Yup these are late Spring and Summer looks for me - no matter where I am really. I can't handle cold a/c, and like to cover up.
(Bring on the hot flushes of menopause. I will welcome feeling too warm and wearing flimsy little sleeveless things).
