Lost UPS package with my lovely tops in it - has anyone had this happen? :/

Hi all, I ordered some tops from BR and had a delivery notice say they were delivered, but nothing at the door! I think they must have delivered to the wrong address, as it was literally only a matter of minutes between when they say they delivered and when I checked the door

Has anyone had this happen, and did you get resolution? I'm so upset and am worried I'll be out $200 :/

Not this but they lost my son's clotting factor shipped from the pharmacy and worth a gazillion bucks. We kept making a fuss and eventually found out enough that it was delivered to some other town in a neighboring state and signed for by a random person and opened. They then eventually collected it and delivered it to us but since the box was opened pharmacy told us not to use it and delivered a fresh boxful.

I also once ordered some shirts for my son and they were misdelivered to a house a block away and that person contacted them and they were re-delivered. I also did quite a bit of calling and complaining.

More recently, I had ordered some tee shirts from Walmart ship to store.
There was a standoff between the store shipping and the delivery. UPS would only deliver at a certain time and the store refused to open the shipping department. Finally got straightened out after many phone calls to Walmart, UPS and calls between them. Never tried that again.

This happened to me with Nordstrom, recently. They immediately refunded me, as unfortunately the item had sold out in the correct size and color so I couldn't get a replacement. BR should be able to do the same if they can't send you replacements. The package never did turn up, as far as I knew, so I suspected it was misdelivered (possibly stolen, as I live in a building with 60 or so apartments).

No, but before Christmas I heard that a lot of packages locally and in other areas were stolen off porches. I hope that's not what happened to yours.

Contact BR ASAP. They will have more leverage with UPS. This has happened to me with Nordstrom a couple of times. Nordstrom rushed duplicates out to me. One time, the delivery person (USPS?) said the package was delivered at X time at Y place and it totally wasn't; it was delivered the following day. By that time, a dupe was already being rushed to me, and Nordstrom requires that you UPS/USPS the first set; you can't return it to a store.

Years ago, a holiday temp UPS worker lied about delivering my package. It was raining and dark when the person wrote that he/she/they delivered it. Packages in my neighborhood have not been subject to theft unlike a lot of other places. That evening, I happened to have run out to the supermarket and returned home shortly after the time the package was supposedly delivered. I have 44 steps to my front door, not something that workers (other than my special UPS guy Rand!) are willing to do toward the end of their shift. The company was out of stock of my item so I was only able to get a refund rather than a replacement.

You should NOT have to pay for your items. I'm sure BR and UPS have insurance for this type of situation. Only scenario I can imagine where you would have to pay is if you have made numerous similar claims so they think you are scamming them.

I usually have things shipped to my husband’s office where the receptionist can sign for them. They had to vacate their offices for a month or so, so I am having an item shipped to my house. I’m nervous because I never do it. I hope it turns out okay.

I had this happen last year. They ended up delivering to my neighbor, even though I was home. I thought it was lost/stolen, so I called and reordered. Then I had an issue because I returned it, and I had to follow up several times to get both charges credited. Bummer.

I don’t think you need to be worried about being out the money though. I just suggest you check neighbors before calling, if you haven’t called them yet.

Thanks ladies - I don't think it was stolen; I think UPS has made an error. It was literally minutes between when they say they dropped it and when I checked the door. I hope BR will help me out, but they won't do anything until the predicted delivery date of February 20 (not sure why, but that's the policy). Hopefully it will turn up between now and then! Thanks for the commiseration

It's happened to me a couple of times in my neighborhood. One time the package was re-delivered two days later. I think someone must have returned it to UPS. The second time it showed up in less than a week. I suspect the post office delivered to the wrong address and when I contacted my mail lady, she seemed to track it down. The problem was that she was delivering to several houses before she would code for deliveries made, thus the error.

Call UPS! This has happened to me many times and they've always figured it out.

If that doesn't work or it's too much time on hold call the company because they have better contact with their shipping company.

Now, it's not the busy peak season but I have insider information (hubby works for them not as a driver ) that it's not uncommon for pressured drivers (and they are) to claim they delivered something when they didn't.

I once had another clotting factor shipment that they told the pharmacy no one was home. We were expecting it and there were 3 people home plus 2 dogs and it's a small house. I called them and gave them hell and said it was medicine and they would not take it to a storage area for the weekend and they better redeliver now and they better knock loud.
Hubby doubted this would work but it did.

This has happened to me before. There is another street with the same name save for a ‘Street’ v a ‘Lane’ kind of thing. Sometimes our mail goes there.

Thanks ladies - sounds like there is hope! I reached out to UPS (useless, it must be said) and BR (much better), and will sit tight with fingers crossed for a while and hope it shows up ... I am hoping perhaps the driver is still making his rounds and just marked it delivered by accident or something ... anyways, it's not the end of the world, just a little disappointment! I was replenishing essentials lol! Thx

Omg. Can I say I’ve gotten someone else’s insulin before! It is in fact still sitting in my fridge, altho I called right away and made sure that person got their prescription sorted. I thought they’d send me a package to send it back. But maybe they expected me to toss it, since it needs refrigeration.

Has happened to me more times than I’d care! Mostly have had good resolutions, though not always.
I definitely empathize, sorry they janked it up and hope it gets back you or rectified quickly!

It has only happened to me once, and it was a pricey jacket from Intermix so I was freaking out. I even had a moment of panic thinking that my husband might have put the box out with the paper recycling, which had been collected already. But Intermix sent me another one.

Oh sorry this happened! This has happened to me only a couple of times over the last many, many years, and every time the merchant has replaced the items at no cost to me.

Delivery people can be very careless where I live. We have gotten packages meant for the building across the street, and even for a completely different address blocks and blocks away from us! Not to mention that delivery people rarely follow instructions on where to place packages (even when instructions come from their supervisors).

But I would have expected a better response from UPS once you reached out. I'd be curious how it turns out (and hope that everything is sorted out quickly!).

Oh, yes. This happens from time to time:

Check the neighbours.
Sometimes UPS will deliver the next day despite stating "delivered".
With Nordies, they just send you another order right away - and I return the original when it turns up.

I had a Banana Republic package stolen off my steps and BR was fantastic about giving me a refund. Good luck! It does seem like there's a good chance it was an error in the UPS bookkeeping. I've had that happen for packages that showed up just fine.

One day I was working from home and saw the email right away that said my package had been delivered. Thought that was odd as they usually ring the doorbell or knock when dropping off a package and I hadn’t heard anything. Went downstairs - nothing! So I went two doors down my 258B vs their 256B and there was my package!

BR once refunded my money when a package went missing but the second time it happened they said they would only do one claim a year and to take it up with my credit card company. Needless to say I haven’t ordered from them since.

I've gotten notifications saying something was delivered and it didn't show up until the next morning. If it's not there tomorrow, I'd call BR.

I've had a package misdelivered from Zara -- they were extremely difficult to deal with but once I finally got to a supervisor, it was worked out. (I am sure it was a UPS issue).

I've had some from BR SAY delivered when it wasn't and it showed up the next day...and I've had one go completely missing, but that was at holiday time. BR is usually pretty good about dealing with it.

Good luck. I received a Zappos package- not mine-that had literally been traveling the world. When I contacted Zappos they told me it had been lost and the customer taken care of months ago.

Kerry, good to know about the "once per year" limit. I had a month with a handful of thefts before I figured out a solution, but luckily each package was from a different store, and I got refunds on all of them. I was concerned a store would balk after the first one, which is maybe fair since in my case it's definitely theft after delivery. So eventually I got a mailbox at a local store (rather pricey).

Once a pair of very nice LD Tuttle shoes was stolen and then showed up on ebay the next day (definitely the same pair). I reported that info to the store (Shoescribe, sadly departed subsidiary of Yoox), and they just gave me a refund. I don't know if they pursued the ebay thing. They're not based in the US and it might have been too much hassle.

Good luck -- I'm sure it will turn up soon and/or BR will refund you.

USPS has sent a sweater to Hawaii (lucky knit!), told me a package with a one-off vintage pendant was delivered (it wasn't, but it took them a few days to locate it and start getting it back to me), did something with a lipstick that required me to call/email -- the list goes on but all did get to me.

Ouch, TG... I hope it gets swiftly resolved and you're either refunded or replacements are sent.

...and contact the FBI if any ransom demands are made !
