looking for inspiration: post your statement jackets

I still haven't found my jacket for the autumn/winter and thought I'd ask you to post pictures of what you would consider a statement jacket - one that is casual would be best.

Oh, good questions bj. I mean inside jacket, not outerwear. Either jacket or blazer (though blazer is what I am after). And casual - smart casual is fine

Mine is the Willow & Clay riding jacket. A big fave, although not all that versatile in my wardrobe compared to more simple styles/colors. Still, I've found ways to wear it because I like it so much

I luv my olive military jacket! It dresses up jeans and adds something extra to dresses. I reach for it a lot!!

This is mine - an asymmetrical brown jacket that I thrifted. I love the unusual shape, it adds pizazz to any pants based outfit. I also couldn't live without a basic denim jacket and my leather jacket - both are staples for me.

For blazers, try Zara, they have a mind boggling range of knit blazers in fun colours and prints!

Kirti, AJ and Mo - thanks so much for posting your pics.

Fruitful - I am definitely after fitted.

I am very keen on Mo's jacket - so much so I started working out what size I'd be - but Willow and Clay don't ship internationally, am not sure that wine is a great colour on me and am a little uncertain about the double breastedness!

Kirti - I had a look on Zara's website - they certainly have a lot, but not sure they are what I am after. But thanks for the suggestion

Anne, my hard drive crashed and I lost a TON of pictures. Including most of my YLF ones. ;(

Also, I don't think I have a particular "statement" jacket. I have lots of jackets, but they aren't terribly unusual. Maybe the closest I have would be a winter white jacket with black dots. You can see it here: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-polka-dot

For fall/winter I was going to post the same Willow & Clay jacket that Mo has. Not a statement jacket, but I wear a black blazer a lot with sleeves rolled and scrunched. You look fabulous in red. How about a red blazer or other style jacket? They are very versatile with jeans, any neutral and microcheck pants for casual wear.

No pictures but a wine or red military inspired jacket would look fabulous on you and seems versatile. I'm not too familiar with stores in Australia to be able to offer specifics sadly.

I love me some statement jackets! Here are a few that I could easily find pics of:

- citron utility jacket - it's citron!
- AS leather jacket - double sip, asymmetrical, quilted
- faux shearling aviator
- red ON fishtail anorak - hi-low hem, statement color, hardware

Thanks so much! I can't stay long - it is a public holiday here and we are off on a picnic, but did want to say that, as Joy suggested, I am thinking of a red jacket
