Linens - team white or coloured?

In my 20's I purchased coloured and printed linens, with a particular sweet spot for blue and white stripes. Over the years I've moved to only white linen. Two sets of white sheets for each bed. Everything white - until yesterday - when I bought printed linens for a guest bedroom! Yellow and grey triangles on white for a yellow painted bedroom. I am liking the idea of a set of linens dedicated to a specific bed/room and colour scheme.

What about you? Are you white linens only, or colour and print?

White. I get sheets from Macy's hotel collection. Very smooth. And I dry them on the clothesline so they're very crisp. In winter it can be challenging, so I look at the weather forecast to figure out which day I will be able to hang them on the clothesline. It can take all day in winter. In summer it takes less than an hour.

WHITE LINENS ONLY FOR OUR OWN BED. Absolutely no colour or pattern where we sleep. This includes the bed cover, and ALL the pillow cases.

The guest bedroom has a colour scheme.

My mother said that these things should always be white: dishes, soap, sheets, and towels. I've pretty much adhered to her philosophy all my life, although while in Portugal once, I sprang for some white sheets with beautiful blue embroidery.

Your yellow and grey printed ones sound lovely, though, for that yellow room!

Coloured or print. But I'm thinking about getting them in white/cream once I have the money to invest in higher quality new ones. The ones I have right now are all old, mostly leftovers from my childhood.

I switched over to white sheets a while ago. I like that I can bleach them every so often.
I do need new flannel sheets this fall. Any suggestions?

I have a combination of pale cream and some muted solid colors (green tea, pale blue). Most of my linens are also from Hotel Collection, which is pretty much limited to neutrals or sedate colors.

I do have one Liberty print duvet cover (a fairly large scale floral with orange backing) that I bust out on occasion though! It's from the target collab so not the best quality but it's fun to use nevertheless.

I use print for one reason. I have a king bed and can never figure out which is the long side. So I always get some striped sheets to help me with that.

Color, and usually some small print. My current sheets are blush pink with a small scale pattern in white. Being a renter, walls are all white, so linens are where I can bring in some color.

I like printed comforters and coverlets, because they don't show cat hair as easily. And I pretty much stick to light colored sheets for the same reason, but not white. White has no place in my decor/color scheme.

Colors & prints. My sheets, pillowcases & bedspread in the room match the curtains in the room. I have several sets for both master bedroom & guest room based on the curtains there. Never used white. Too high maintenance for my lifestyle with dog hair and dogs tracking in mud into the house after every walk!

Anna, I use the Garnet Hill flannel flat sheets as blankets. They wear like iron and I have some that I have had for over ten years.

Anna, Land's End flannels are my go to. I get the heavy Portugese ones (in white, natch!). Just last year I replaced 2 sets that were 10+ years. The fitted sheets wore through and the flats were getting pretty thin. I'm using them as paint drop clothes. I'm happy with the new ones. No drop in quality, there.

I got a kick out of Xtabay's answer because...being Portuguese...I like some color. I don't have any solid white linens. I have off white and egg shell but mostly I have little designs. I have a lot of greens and grey with subtle designs like dots or triangles. I do have some with small flowers, too. It makes me think of home.

Muted plaids if printed or cream, blue or gray if solid here; never white Usually get paid flannels for cool weather, my favorite! Blankets, too. Guest room is usually more colorful/themed -- currently cream, green and brown.

Totally Team White here with no blankets, top sheets, coverlets, throws, or spreads--just a fitted bottom sheet, a pillow, and individual duvets with covers. Everything gets washed once a week so we use twin duvets and twin mattresses on our king. It was also easy to train our kids to make their beds in the morning when all they had to do was shake out a duvet.

I am mostly Team White for our bed but the boys have a mix....some patterned, some white and some blue.

I have a spare set of pale blue linen that I take to the beach with us or if we are staying out of the home and need to provide linen for one reason or another. It is also the backup for the spare bed if I have to turn that one around quickly.

I have three sets of linen for two queen beds in the house plus the spare blue set.

We've mostly colored prints (botanical or abstract) with a few solid colors.
Zero white or off-white.

Oh, I have done it all. I'm old! Lol. Currently tho my decor schemes require exactly the right shade of solid pale blue. Very difficult. So difficult, I'm thinking of yielding and allowing for pale green.

This is one of those threads that makes me feel rather bemused, like I'm in a different world from everyone else.
Because, I didn't choose our sheets, in general. My preference hasn't really come into it. Most were gifts. A couple of sets were bought by DH because he had the idea of using the fitted sheet to cover a stained old couch.
I haven't bought a single set of sheets for the kids - all gifts or handed down. Most of our blankets are handed down - and a good thing too, as Australia doesn't manufacture woolen blankets anymore. I think we did choose one set of doona covers for one daughter once.

We did choose doona covers and doonas for ourselves, but since all the buttons have fallen off, we don't use the covers much anymore.

Oh, and mostly coloured.We were given a lovely queen set of white Egyptian cotton, but the fitted sheet has worn through and is now a rag.

I've tried so many over the years but my favorites now are linen cotton blend sheets that are the softest and most comfortable sheets I think I've ever owned - and they breathe enough to feel cool but not so much to feel uncovered. These are subtly patterned in shades of gray-taupe and natural. My blanket (which is "my" bedspread) is natural off white with a textured weave.
