aww. I would be honored to pet your sweet and brave pup. So glad you both are OK. Retail therapy is very restorative.

I am SO glad you are both okay. What a terrible, scary day. Please take care - that is seriously traumatic for both of you.

Aw, Rachylou, I'm sorry you went through this frightening and hurtful event. I'm glad you and Lilypup are together and recuperating.

I'm not sure pressing charges would really help rectify anything. She probably needs serious mental health help, which basically doesn't exist in jail. But maybe your courts are better at getting people the help they need.

Yikes! How awful!! So glad you both are safe and recuperating now. Rachylou, please make sure to see a doctor if you are still in pain. Luckily, no prescription necessary for retail therapy.

I just saw this.

First, what??!! Crazy. Just crazy. So sorry you and LP had to ensure this.

But I am so totally cheering for LP crossing that road and coming back to her momma. Kick a** end to the story.

I hope you both are getting some rest. Xoxoxo hugs to you both.

I just saw this post. I am SO sorry . What a terrible experience for you both. My husband was attacked in the Port Authority Bus Terminal in NYC several years ago for no good reason, it's a crazy world.
Baby your pup and yourself for a few days:)

My heart goes out to you. In addition to being shocking in the moment these types of brush ups against other realities are incredibly disturbing and destabilizing, and can just ripple on and on.
I am so glad for you that your dog is okay ( OMG! Just to think of the alternative! ) and thinking that because you will both want to put on a brave face for each other you'll soon be emotionally upright again.
Best, best wishes, and seriously, what a clever and resourceful dog!

I'm late seeing this thread, but have to say I'm so very sorry this happened to you and your sweet pet, but glad it turned out okay in the end.

Years ago, someone deliberately hit and killed our dog when my older brother was out jogging with him. Our dog was not on the street, so the hit had nothing to do with that. The driver just hit our dog and sped off. It was years before I was ready for another pet. The psychological impact of something like that is more than non-pet owners can imagine.

Getting back to your incident, I'm glad you decided to file a report.

Checking in and hoping that you and Pup are doing better. Much love to you both.

What a scare, Rachy, I'm so sorry this happened but so glad Lilypup made it home.

Aww. Glad you are both well. I have a long legged shepherd mix and am careful to stay away from disturbed people with him. Even sane-ish people can have strong opinions about dogs and children, and are dreadfully prone to voicing them. Thank goodness it seldom comes to this.
So sorry.

So sorry to hear about this traumatic confrontation. Bad enough for you, but your poor doggie! It's going to take a while for your heart to stop racing from all this. Please take it easy and be good to yourself.

What a horrible thing to happen to you and lilipup - glad you are both better.

Hopefully better. Still looking over our shoulder a bit. Neighborhood watch all vying to be our escorts, which is really kind and thoughtful.

Olive - the girl certainly voiced some feelings there... with a closed fist and a hot cup of coffee. Not sure it was about dogs though. Which is a good point that I should make note of in my records.

I just saw this now, Rachylou and wanted to say first, how horrified I was on your behalf, how relieved that Lilypup returned, and just generally...ARGHHHHHH!!! Huge hugs to you and recuperative thoughts.

So sorry for this traumatic ordeal,
rachylou. Scary all around. I hope you are feeling better and understand that can take time. Glad lilypup came back quickly, though it must have seemed like forever.

Although this sounds like mental health problems, reporting the incident might help this girl get needed help eventually. Sometimes the dots will get connected if this is not an isolated incident.

All the best.

I am late to this thread, but I am so sorry to hear that this happened to you! Glad you and your dog are OK. Any idea what provoked the girl? That is so weird -- and scary.

Thx for the continued well wishes everybody (!) Still kinda tense leaving home.

No idea, Az. We were on a street where mutterers mill about. The food pantry is close, social services, etc.

Sorry just reading this. How weird and awful. Probably no answers to the question why and why you. Basically assualted in broad daylight, not to mention Lilypup trauma.
