I am so sorry this happened Rachylou!

How scary ... losing my dog is one of my worst nightmares, and to have it start with someone assaulting you is just horrible.

I'm glad you're both home safe!

Oh I'm so sorry...and mad! What in the world???

I'm glad she found her way home and is okay, Take care of you both!

I am so glad that bot of you are OK. This is so scary!!!

Oh my goodness how awful for you but I'm so glad lilypup is home safe x

Did the police ever show up? I'm glad to hear that both you and pup are safe (and not seriously hurt, I hope). Didn't understand what had happened to you initially, goodness how scary. I think a good cry is just fine, along with more tea and some ice. Many hugs birthday twinnie!! <3

So scary - agreeing with Aida about the cry Please take care of yourself & Lilypup & big hugs to you both.

I'm so glad she made it home and you're both (mostly) OK. This must have been the most bizarre and scary day. Take it easy and give Lilypup a cuddle for me.

Oh Rachy, so glad you are both okay now. Hope you're removing. What a horrible thing to happen!

Lilypup must have one incredible GPS to find her way home...That is a tribute to what a good place you make home for her that she would go through all obstacles to get back...And life does get stranger and stranger...glad you are ok and that sweet Lilypup is home...Get a good night's sleep and tomorrow will be brighter...

How scary! I'm so glad she found her way home to you. What a bizarre incident.

Okay, what a surreal horrible day. I don't know what I was thinking when I said I wanted to move back up here. Maybe my neighbor isn't just whingeing with no reason about what it's like here. This *is* where all the social services are. All the drug rehabs, programs for the mentally troubled, etc. So lots and lots of troubled people walking around. Thing is, they're always telling you on the news to look out for a black kid in a hoodie, and that's ridiculous and unfair as my neighbor would have it it. And true, we've seen in our building, for example, more trouble from entitled kids than anyone else. Like this basically nice looking hipster girl who threw her $3 coffee on Lilypup. This week at the bakery our new pizza guy who was supposed to be a PhD candidate taking a break from school - he worked a couple of hours, then disappeared, then came back the next day and held a dance party of one in the cafe and left again. Crazy is always jumping out of the woodwork at you.

Oh Rachy! I just logged in and saw this... how horrid! I am glad Lilypup found her way home and hope you can cuddle with her and recoup some now too. Crazy... I mean who throws coffee on a dog? Random.

I am glad that your doggy made it home and that now you are recovering together.
There are too many weirdos out there.
I hope you can identify the woman and report her to the police although it sounds like they never showed up.

OMG, just saw this now. So sorry for your whole ordeal. Glad LiLypup is safe and hope you are both on the mend.
Can not believe someone could do those things!

My heart dropped when I heard this. I couldn't believe it. I so hope that you both are OK. Please talk to us if you need to and give Lilypup extra kisses and you get lots of virtual hugs.

Oh no. Thank goodness Lilypup is back, but you both must still be in shock. It is weird when random events that you know happen actually happen to you, if you know what I mean.

Rachy, this is too horrible to even think about, much less live through. Remember that you and Lilypup most likely will have some lingering effects of the trauma you have both been through, so take good care of yourselves.

I'm glad Lilypup found her way back home! But flabbergasted and horrified by the whole story. Spring seems to bring all the crazies out, doesn't it?

Thanx for the shoulder everyone. I think we *are* in shock. I have to try and remember, Jody, but it's easier said than done. The girl was so weird. You want to fit it into some logical framework, but there is none.

Yikes, just saw that now. Soo glad Lilypup found her way home. What an awful story. Take care of yourselves!
(And you can't make sense of some craziness. When I was a teen my mum randomly got her arm slashed with an army knife at the train station on a trip for work. Guy was as old as me, just standing around waiting for the cops to take him. )

I just read this too (was in London until late yesterday evening). What an awful and extremely scary day for the both of you, Rachy-(((((( What was that girl thinking!!??-((((

I am super impressed that your sweet Lilypup made it home by herself, and very relieved to hear that you and she weren't hurt too badly (do go see a doctor if you feel worse for wear today though!!). How are you doing this morning, Rachy? Were you able to get some sleep?

We are always here if you want to talk about it. And as Jody said, do take the after effects of this kind of traumatic experience seriously, and take very good care of yourself (and your darling furbaby too, of course).

Warm hugs!
Inge

Oh, gosh! Just saw this. So glad for the happy ending. I can't believe that girl's actions. Hope you and Lilypup recover soon. x

Late to the post but happy to hear you are both home and well!

Oh, Rachylou, I'm so sorry to hear about Lilypup's mishap with that deranged woman.

Hearing the good news that she's back home and you are both together is heartwarming. May the two of you have a restful, peaceful day with each other. Sending you both virtual hugs!!

I am so happy that lilypup made it home ok. I am ready to have my own cry about this! What a dreadful ordeal. Hope you are starting to feel better!

My heart just stopped as I read the headline, and then had to quickly scan to see if you and lilypup are okay.....
((((hugs)))))to you and ear scratches for lily....
Late to the post but want you to know am thinking of you today, and hoping you have a good day.

Oh my gosh, Rachy - I'm glad you are both safe. This is so upsetting. Take care of Lilypup and yourself.

Thx and more thx. You guys are all the best.

Tail end of story: The police did come at last. They felt I should press charges, so a full report was filed. But hard to know what to say or do. They would somehow have to pick her up when no one knows who she was or where she went. And the girl was young. It's hard to see how jail could help.

Am personally a little worse for wear. Stiff and achy. Ironically, blood sugar is near perfect.

Lilypup is on high alert, but otherwise no physical harm. We're all still so proud of her making it across that street.

We did a little, um, retail therapy this morning. I don't know what it says about my dog training... We went first to the off leash dog park and Lilypup was kinda tense. So then we went to the shops and Lilypup got some nice pets from people and let her hair down so to speak... Ha!
