Layer up - YouLookFab Forum

A few simple layers for fall at work - and unusually for me, I'm wearing jeans in most of them.

1. Straight leg jeans, purple slingback pumps, black button-down with white bird print, black and gray colorblocked tee on top, rose gold watch.

2. Cobalt pencil skirt, metallic snakeskin pumps, cream button-down layered under a mint sweater, mint and rose beaded necklace.

3. Straight leg jeans, ink blue button-down with mint cuffs/collar layered under an ink blue shell, turquoise pumps, mint chandelier earrings

4. Straight leg jeans, black faux-turtleneck, silver pendant necklace, black beret, purple clogs, silver beaded wire-wrapped stone bracelet.

I feel like I've been greatly lacking creativity and motivation lately, so what I have to share is on the simple side.

Great outfits, Kari! You wear jeans just as well as dresses. All are terrific but I especially love the patterns and colors in 1. So pretty. Love the touches of mint in 3 and the plum in 4. These may be simple but they are striking and still very you. Well done!

Kari, I don't see anything lacking in creativity here. Maybe being fab has become so easy for you, you don't have to work at it so much Your purple pumps are fantastic.

When the jean fits, wear it! You look great in these outfits. I especially love #1. Nothing lacking in creativity here.

But -- here's an idea. If you're feeling lacking in that department, how about committing to trying a version of Angie's ensembles every time she comes out with a new one? I've been doing that for a while now and it's really fun!

I don't see any loss of creativity, more just that you have streamlined a little. You look good, and the little details you choose to highlight really make the outfits.

Simple, where is simple? I see some nice print mixing (#1) and fun layering among these looks. And some gorgeous colors here. #2 that lighter blue/green is lovely!

Kari you couldn't be simple if you tried. All of these outfits are full of your style just a slightly different version of it as you don't usually wear jeans. Love them, I always think of you and a few other ylf ladies when I am trying to accessorize.

Sometimes it's good to take a moment and just enjoy what we have and where we are. In the last year, you've moved, endured a stressful job search, started a new job, and added two furry creatures to your life. Wow!

All creative types have flurries of activity followed by periods of rest. You are resting in what you've already accomplished -- a brilliant command of color, amazing ability for non-hectic pattern mixing, simple outfits with a mix of fun......the list goes on.

You'll know when it's time to make style changes again. I think Suz's idea, or perhaps undertaking a low-key challenge might be a good way to keep it fresh for you.

You look terrific here! I'm particularly drawn to #2 (tonal is fab) and your colorful, ladylike footwear.
